last time i knew, maybe 10yrs ago they wanted 250.000 $ for it About 15 years ago target wanted to buy it. They were going to build target store in the open field behind woodys. Plans were to remove woodys and put access to target parking lot with entry/exit where Woody's was. It was in the enterprise zone. Obviously, plans fell through.

Woody's holds alot of great memories for us all, it's just a shame that the big Woody is now in Olgesby now though. One day my husband and I made it a point to go there to eat when traveling out of town. It was soooooooooooooo sad to see big Woody there in a town that he truly didn't belong to, or come from. Really WHO'S asinine idea was it that he had to go? Seriously I'd really like to know....? M

The big guy and I stopped there for lunch purposely just to see Woody, and I got so upset that I couldn't hardly even eat. YES he is in a great place, again...but the notion that he had such a history here and was made to leave...just really made me ill. There becomes a principal involved. M

You could buy it and re-name it Lumpy's........or whatever you like.....your place, your choice. When we got ours, we had a perfectly good sign that even had neon, we liked the name and had a shoestring budget.....why change a perfectly good neon sign? HAHAHAHA........... I'll tell him! M

M I knew D!ck since from the early 70's, then met his wife. D!ck, his wife & I, my husband & another couple used to go to dinner together & my daughter worked for him too. She didn't have a choice to sell him & even if she did, she was newly widowed. I'm sure she didn't want to sell him, but she did have children to take care of then.

They do a nice job up at Casa. I am looking forward to see what they do out at Woody's. They like old cars and have several of their own. I am sure they will be receptive of some cruise night activities. Looks like Win/Win for Streator. Lets hope they do a good job! Not that big of a fan of Mexican food with the exception of tacos, but glad to see/hear the building wont be sitting empty. I wish them the best of luck with whatever they are going to do with it.

YEARS BACK, was " Woody " stollen by some High School kids around Graduation time ?
I vaguely recall hearing / reading something about it, but don't recall IF Truth or a Tall Tale being spread around town.
I CAN'T imagine this being a Small TASK considering Size and Location.
