A woman who weighs nearly 400 pounds reportedly brought in over $112,000 in benefits because she’s “too fat to work,” and even though she was told to get weight loss surgery, she denied the procedure so that she could continue to get benefits. Reports say that Jodie Sinclair, a 28-year-old former chef, lives off of disability benefits and occupies a rent-free home in Peterborough. Sinclair says that her weight has left her unable to hold a job, and even though she has been told to get government-funded weight loss surgery, she has turned it down so that she can continue to collect benefits. “I’m not going under the knife for anyone because I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong,” Sinclair said. “Doctors keep on shouting at me to lose weight but I don’t even eat that much. My cooked breakfasts are my treat. My mum would come over every day and we would have sausage, bacon, beans and toast but the dietician had a go at me for that. She said ‘what’s the point in me coming here if you won’t try?’ so I told her not to come again. I wasn’t going to give up my breakfasts.” Jodie does not take responsibility for her weight and claims that she has a disorder that causes her to gain weight. “Every time I go to the doctors they tell me I’m going to die if I don’t lose weight. But none of them understand that I have a condition that’s making me this weight,” Sinclair said. “I eat potatoes and pasta, not takeaways, so it’s not my fault. They don’t believe me that I don’t eat too much so I had to get my own mobility scooter – the NHS wouldn’t provide one. My boyfriend bought it for me so I can get out.” Sinclair reportedly has to get help with simple things like bathing herself, and despite doctors saying she needs surgery in order to save her life, the 28-year-old is unwilling to listen. “They think they know everything but I know better,” Sinclair claimed. “I know that op won’t help me, so they need to work with me how I am.” Read more: www.freepatriotpost.com/woman-says-shes-too-fat-to-work-and-turned-down-weight-loss-surgery-to-stay-on-benefits/#ixzz3Px7qH2ZU

Then maybe this lady should be knocked off the benefits then if she will not help herself.

You also have to consider that this is in England...They don't have any work requirements when it comes to social programs...

The government wants her to have surgery in order for them to kill her off.

Cut her off! A few months without food will slim her down one way or another!

if she doesn't change her eating habits she is condemning herself to death. she is dangerously obese so her life span is limited so trying the pills to save her life doesn't matter.

Are sites like the one this came from actually a primary news source for some people or just "red meat"?

Like many others, I am fighting that battle of the bulge myself. Down about 25 Lbs. so far this calendar year. Drop in the bucket, but a step in the right direction. Stay tuned. I am determined to channel my stubbornness and put it towards something good. Like any bad habits, it takes willpower and incentive. You can't do it until you really want to badly enough. Good job, MM! Keep it up! For your health and well being.

It never ceases to amaze me that peeps "on, or trying to get on the system" knocks others "on the system," like their somehow special & are the only ones deserving of it!

Yes, its funny that anyone who quits their well paying healthcare job so their partner can collect disability, should have a problem with anyone else abusing the system.

It will be all over soon. Congress planning to overhaul disability and eliminate ssi
And Illinois governor cutting Medicaid by 75%, That should create alot of savings of taxpayers money. Then there will be chaos and crazies out on the street homeless. And more crimes to occur including violent crime.

NOT, if Physicians are doing their part by all governmental laws.
I honestly believe too many Dr's. are to blame for the screw up of our Medical CRISIS in the USA.

Between the insurance companies and the state, Doctors are getting paid but half of what the bills are, that's why most are leaving. These are the words of the Doctors not mine.
