The Great Marxist Push via the Obama administration centers more on inequality than poverty. Been to Haiti lately? That's poor.
Over 99 percent have a refrigerator, television, and stove or oven. Eighty-one percent have a microwave; 75 percent have air conditioning; 67 percent have a second TV; 64 percent have a clothes washer; 38 percent have a personal computer.
As for homelessness, one-half of one percent living under the poverty line have lost their homes and live in shelters.
Seventy-five percent of the poor have a car or truck. Only 10 percent live in mobile homes or trailers, half live in detached single-family houses or townhouses, and 40 percent live in apartments. Forty-two percent of all poor households own their home, the average of which is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage and a porch or patio.
According to a recent Census Bureau report, 80.9 percent of households below the poverty level have cellphones.
When the left talks about the poor, they don't mention these statistics because what matters to the left is inequality, not poverty.
This is America. Remember...land of the free home of the brave? Most of the people who become successful matriculate in homes where traditional values are taught, regardless of the color of your skin. We all had role models and mentors who MADE us do the Right Thing instead of letting us "call the shots" or find excuses for us when we did wrong or needed correction. We have a president who was raised in chaotic circumstances and therefore, literally has no idea of what I'm talking about. Some of us realized the virtues of traditional values by way of experiencing how dysfunctional many of the alternatives were.
It takes intervention from positive mentors, teachers, friends, and loved ones to set people on a path of personal responsibility leading to a solid life or to find a way out of poverty and the hopelessness and self-imposed helplessness it promotes.
As a society, we have given people the RIGHT to fail and become degenerate welfare "lifers." Is it any wonder that things are the way they are, now?
America gave up as a society, but you don't have to.
Choose to be the best you can be and help others also. While you're at it, open the Good Book and immerse yourself in it's wisdom.
We can't be perfect, that's impossible...but we can figure out what is morally correct and what exhibits common sense MOST of the time!
