STOP THAT, JimB. No,No,No,No,No, Noooo..... N O ! ... ....
The FIRST thing I do when we get to a Motel; strip the spread, blanket, & pillows. Basically what's already on the bed. Call housekeeping and ask for just enough NEW to replace what's in the room. We keep our same linens for our duration.
In reality ; it's the MATTRESS PAD , MATTRESS, and UNDER the Bed where the TRUE NASTINESS IS !
Traveling with kit, IS T H E ULTIMATE.......... W O R S E !

The show I watched said to look @ the seams of the mattress, esp. near the wall, under the pillows.

Wow is that an old saying, lol...which I always did really think just to be, lol. I always tell people "nite nite pleasant screams" As far as bedbugs goes though I read or heard of a tip along time ago to put a fabric softener sheet between your mattress and box spring, and that will divert them. So with that tip...if you already wash your sheets and dry them using fabric softener and / or a fabric softener sheet, or both...wouldn't that then also?...I don't get it!? I hate traveling and staying in any motel / hotel room...ick! If any of you have watched Hotel Rescue then you know what I mean, and talk about your skin crawling. I kinda get that same feeling every time I head north on route 23 and drive past the Pines...........ewwww!!! M This issues has been out for several years, as CBS did a study about it. MnM, I saw that too, about dryer sheets. It said to keep your clothes IN the suitcases, w/a sheet or 2 IN them, & put them under the pillows. I've seen the nasty things too & I ALWAYS take Clorox wipes. The 1st thing I do is wipe-down ALL things I may touch, light switches, door locks, TV remote, (1 of the nastiest) phone, handles to the sink, tub & toilet etc. I also turn down the coverlet 2Xs & NEVER use it, I only sleep between the sheets. Most places launder them. I've seen a show about them using a blue light to SEE all the nasty stuff on them & not being laundered)I take my own feather pillow. Another thing to do, is run HOT water thru the coffee pot. It also said many stewardess's use it to wash their undies & nylons. Are you friggin kidding me?!?!?! I think I just threw up a lil bit in my mouth. Why in the name of God would they use a coffee pot per say to wash intimates in when they have a bathtub and/ or a sink?? M

Bed bugs are said to be worst pests that can harm you easily and they are not easy to find out. But I just got to know some symptoms of these bugs and also easy to do heat treatment for bed bugs. I think you must give this a try as a lot of people say it actually works.

There are bedbugs in Streator. I would never pick up or buy any used furniture unless I know the people very well.

What people fail to understand is they are not like fleas they do not jump, they crawl and if you visit someone that has them you are taking the chance of one crawling on you or your shoe taking it with you and traveling to the next place it wants to get off. They hide in the seams of mattresses because it is warm there and when you go to bed they come out and you get bit and they suck the blood from you then go back and to their spot and the cycle continues. They are actually translucent and when they are full you see that because they turn dark brown that tells you they are suckin your blood. The only way currently to control them is HIGH heat like over 150 degrees for d**n near 8 hours. All your stuff fabric whther it be a couch, chair, recliner, bed if you have a major infestation 100's you will not kill them in 1 application as they tend to go hide where it is cooler down by the floor, cracks in walls where plumbing etc. comes through. I can tell you there are several I repeat SEVERAL case's in Streator. The only other thing that will kill them is DDT,http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/articles/summ02/DDT.html
