I remember the Slot cars and Hobby Shop up roughly where the window repair shop is up on E Main. It was about 2 doors down from the old Mushros clothing store. I don't remember that one. I was either gone from town or I discovered girls. LOL

I saw the Williams Hardware Fire (1958). But only my Dad and older brother ever went there.

Yeah, I think it was right about where Maria's Pizza used to be many moons ago. Going West from the old Goodyear shop where Homabkers is: I think a Grocer was on the Corner where 50 yard line is and maybe 3 or 4 doors down was Mushros where the floor covering store is now. The Hobby Shop was somewhere in between. I was pretty young, early 70's I guess. Who knows, maybe same operator and moved his business. We had some cool stores to go to when I was little. The Hobby Shop, The Book Shelf, Wards would have some cool stuff set up sometimes. Van Loons Sporting Goods and Jerry D!ckie's Outdoor Sports. Cristoffs carried Firearms(I think) and some Electronics. I THINK a lot of places carried guns and ammo....Coast to Coast, Cristoffs, Outdoor Sports. Of course you could order guns through Sears or Wards and have it delivered. I don't know about Williams Hardware(before my time) Different times I guess. The Grocer was Graco's, their name is still up on the building. Funny what one take's for granted driving through the downtown all the time....but amazing if you walk the downtown and LOOK UP........................... and see all the facade's still visible on these buildings though. BD and DD...yes we are all from a different era, different generation, but I do at least try to 'educate' my lil peanut M when walking with Baba downtown, she does appreciate knowing and learning about "the good ole days" <<<<< God I never thought myself to actually be that old to say THAT. HAHAHA!!! M

I remember it as Lloyd's as well. Did it change names to 'Mushro's' later? (I don't think any relation to the Men's clothing store named Mushro's located on E. Main earlier, which was run ironically by no one named Mushro, it was Larry and Gene Courey(sp?)) bigdipper, I think Mushro's was where Rashid's is now. M&M should know. g

I think Mushrl's was on the east side of Rashid's. I think Rashid's has been in the same place since I was a kid.

When I was a kid, Vic Rashid was the one fellow that tried to help families. Yes, he was out to make a buck, but he would let families "book" clothes and pay for them a bit at a time. If you bought a pair of tennis shoes, he'd throw in a pair of socks. And he never forgot who you were. Nice man and raised some awful good kids. I'll not forget him, he was kind to me my entire life.
