It's not always the same crap. Sometimes it is people saying that the violence is acceptable, sometimes it is people just trying to make it seem as if the violence is acceptable without actually saying that it is, sometimes it is people saying that the violence is "tolerable", and sometimes it is people denying that anyone ever said that violence was acceptable. I think you are right though, it always seems to just be some of their crap.

Purge! lol now that is what I call a Government out of control lol Is not the government already out of control? Were they ever in control? Hmmmm..... Yes, I do think that our government has been out of control. Declaring people illegal when they are not, spreading rumors that they are doing things requiring head turning, going after people with selective enforcement of overly restrictive ordinances, threatening legal action for people answering their requedt for an opinion, publicly telling people to just leave if they don't like the way our City is run, are all part of their attempted purge in my opinion. It is interesting though that our Mayor says that information about shoot out participants comfortable firing 20+ shots in our community was not provided so that they wouldn't leave the area. It appears that people creating violence is who they do want here and they are trying to purge our community of anyone who asks for better results from them. I do think that they have been out of control in the past, but am hopeful that some of them are trying to change so that they might be able to provide some better results. Anything's Possible!

Life is what YOU make of it. YOU cannot control others. So YOU make a decision of how YOU want your life and make it happen. Dwelling on others will bring YOU down. Not bring them around to your point of view. If someone tries to cram something down my throat, I will spit right back at them. Sugarcoat it and it's easier to swallow. Then change begins.

Yes, I agree. I am enjoying the life that I have created and not letting anyone cram anything down my throat. Our City leaders had better add a lot of sugar coating if they want me to swallow some of the crap that they spew. I know the difference between right and wrong and will keep asking that they make the right changes.

What, are you inferring that maybe I didn't ask nicely enough that they enforce our laws? I certainly was not rude when I asked many many times that they enforce our laws. Perhaps after their vindictive attacks on my family started , I may have come across as rude, but for years and years I did try working with them and absolutely asked nicely. So what are you talking about "sugar" for? Are you saying that I should have included a brown paper bag (like I've heard some bar owners do) to "sweeten" my requests that our laws actually be enforced? If our government were really for the people, should anyone really need to provide any "sugar" just to have our laws enforced?

You got your point across without cramming. This post has vinegar. As if you felt I was implying something and felt threatened. Difference being how people will swallow what you say. And no, I never implied that you should bribe anyone. And yes, the laws should be followed the same for everyone.

And no, I never implied that you should bribe anyone. And yes, the laws should be followed the same for everyone. Yes, I felt as though you were implying that I had asked improperly to have our laws enforced. I do not believe that is the case at all. When a person exposed himself in the middle of the street with cbildren witnessing, I asked nicely that they take action and made it known that I was very willing to testify against the offender, but our City leaders gave more respect to the overly intoxicated person from out of town than someone heavily invested in a local family business. When I reported that people were drinking on the sidewalk, I certainly didn't include any vinegar. Instead of taking action against the offenders, they ratted me out to them, giving them my name and telling them where I live. I participated in Neighborhood Watch for years to try to work with our City leaders to get these things cleaned up and didn't use any vinegar, then they publicly and falsely declared my family illegal (without allowing us Due Process), began targeting us with selective enforcement of their overly restrictive ordinances, gave requirements that don't even follow our laws, and even threatened fines for a violation that didn't even exist. They have only gotten from me a return of the vindictive attitude that they are so well equiped for and so good at giving to others. Like you said, they are out of control. Perhaps the City of Streator is the one that should try using sugar instead of vunegar, don't you think?

You're missing the point Kyle. The mayor was arrested for accepting a $3000 bribe. THAT'S why the Majestic closed.

Perhaps the City of Streator is the one that should try using sugar instead of vunegar, don't you think? Why would the city leaders have anything to say about a guy exposing himself? Where were the parents of the children he exposed himself to? Were the police called, and was he arrested? As for the people drinking on the sidewalk, were they causing anybody harm? I realize I moved to "small town USA" and things are different here. So things have to be handled differently. I pick my battles. Politics, for lack of a better word, suck. (Not the politicians mind you.) But politics do. We're all different people living in the same society having to learn to get along.
