Why wait until night time to do it? Do it during the daytime when there are more people on the road

they do it at night because some individuals drink all day instead of spending time at home with their families on thanksgiving rocket.

tonight the police will be doing safety checks. safety checks = DUI checks. Dallas P.D. did this on a regular basis. They called it license/ins check points. Would get 4 or 5 cars and block off a major street AT NIGHT. Then just stop every vehicle. This would take place near an area that had a lot of bars.

Then that is profiling ,not safety checks. My perception to safety checks is making sure you are buckled up and your vehicle is free of mechanical problems. Hunting for people who have been drinking is straight out profiling determining who has or has not been drinking before deciding to pull them over. Got to have probable cause to pull you over or just plain stop you at a roadblock. If there main goal is to find drunks behind the wheel, then maybe call what they are doing something else, not safety check.

And one DWI, which was a bogus charge, cause it turns out they were stopping every driver, traveling down that particular sidewalk. And that's profiling. And profiling is wrong! = Ron White

Then the bar owners should be held responsible for not cutting off their patron from drinking anymore booze when they are approaching being drunk. To me that says entrapment, purposely staging a road block down the street from bars to catch someone knowingly driving drunk. Bar owners and bouncers should be held responsible and should be trained to know when someone is getting close to being drunk,to cut them off to prevent them from getting drunk. Even should be able to detain them until they are sober enough to leave the bar.

I prefer individual responsibility for a person's actions. You don't have to be falling down drunk, or close to it, for a DUI.

The proper terminology is "revenue genrators". Was not a judge or two pinched for dui in lasalle county. Even one, twice?

Oh yes, the old martini lunches. Since the 'new' Dallas TV show is on, we were watching some of the old series so my Wife could get a feel for some of the characters. (JR really was a character you loved to hate, great job by the late Larry Hagman bringing that character to life) Looking back at that series it is AMAZING how much it portrayed alcohol abuse and infidelity. I agree, most all television shows have nothing but people drinking all the time, even soaps. Moderation is the key though.

Driven by Taco Bell many times over the last few days to see how crazy the traffic is, & also to see how busy it has been; every time I have driven by, someone is making a left turn off of Bloomington St into the parking lot or drive thru. Even saw one person not pull in the turning lane they just put on their turning signal & turned into the Taco Bell parking lot.

Same happened to me. I was coming out of BK, and had the right of way and a gal sitting in middle of lane, that says no entry and she looked at me, like I was at fault. It is so simple. Turn at the stop light and go in that way.
