I have been preaching that it is all about our ability to produce Batteries or Capacitors. We can get energy from a lot of sources. I think poeple are even working on a way to harness water waves to produce power. Dave, for now the electric car remains a dream. Energy density has to radically improve before they become practical except for a few areas on the coast......... We need to keep working on it, but in all reality, both you and I will be long gone before we see it.

I saw outlets for electric cars at the parking garage @ the new Normal, Ill. City Hall/Amtrak building. But only a few cars were using it. Maybe the City or nearby ISU got a grant. Dallas got a grant for CNG and I got an F-150 work truck that used both gas and CNG.

Oh it is wonderful for someone who has to commute 5 miles to a nice warm place to plug in and then drive 5 miles home.
Now, let's get enough energy density to go 200 miles in sub-zero weather and then we will see widespread use.
CNG is also too limited in range, now LNG is a winner, except for that pesky 5,500 PSI fuel tank.......

Well gas is down to $2.37 at Circle K in Chilocote and still $2.77 here and lower in suronding towns. If you fill up out of town they will have to come down in Streator if they want you to buy here.
This was off of face book from what someone has posted.

gas is down to 2.17 in Sparta Illinois as of 5 minutes ago. we thought about an electric car but in this area its not feasible since we couldn't make it back from Bloomington with it on one charge. if you purchase an electric vehicle they will send someone to your house to install a charging unit. I think the Mitsubishi company had something to do with the chargers located in the Bloomington area.

What happens all the time right after gas drops that much? I will not say it.

I notice when I am down that way the gas prices are always lower near the Missouri border. I would imagine it will be at 2.00 or lower in 2 weeks down that way unless someone farts that is on the OPEC board..........

What happens all the time right after gas drops that much? I will not say it. Did we cover this recently in the Taco Bell thread.....cheap gas and exploding toilets? too funny MM, but on a more serious note though, right after gas goes down that much the economy seems to always get worse right after.

Who does not like things cheaper? you have to look at the bigger picture though, like I said in my post, it always happens right after a big drop. Funny how certain people dance around certain questions lol

Just a heads up on prices.....LaSalle/Peru area prices are below $2.50/gal now. Don't know why Streator cannot get with the program.
Bloomington/Normal is also in the $2.50 range.

Otto and others, where were all of you praising streators gas station owners last month when streator was the lowest in the state and stayed well below everyone else for weeks when they went back up?
