Hey FM...welcome back buddy!!!! See so this is a good "thang" for our town, for sure! Another vacant building, or two I should say because I guess they were tearing down Joe's for more parking....AND Streator has a restaurant that serves steaks with higher end dining........... AND more jobs were created then too............. YAY.................... M Thanks my friend. Satch's re-opening is a great thing. I'm not sure if my niece starts there tonight or what, but I'll call her in the morning and see what the deal is. I might make her grab some grub and bring it to her ole Uncle FM since I am having problems getting around again. It's nice to see an old business back up and running like Janike's did for the old Woody's building and the Mexican restaurant in the old Pizza Hut.

My Father-In-Law's barber moved to Streator, so before taking him for his haircut Mr R & I took him for a very delicious lunch at Satchs. We were all very pleased with our choices. Tenderloin, hoagie & ribeye sandwiches were all nicely done, we had potato soup & it, too, was good. But, the friendliness of the staff exceeded the tastiness of the food!!! We all had a pleasant time. My F.I.L , who will be 83 in 2 months, was raised here, & he commented that although he'd gone to Club 820 ( not certain of the #'s) he'd never eaten in the restaurant before. So, on this outstandingly beautiful day we, at our advanced ages, all experienced a "first" that we plan to repeat.

As I have been reading this thread, I remember the last time I saw Satch. My brother and I were both in town and stopped to have a drink at Satch's. We chatted with him for a long time about growing up in Streator, etc.

Just got back from there.
Wow, just wow.
The FIRST time in 20 plus years someone made a steak rare. I mean, yea, some places call medium rare, rare....... drives me nuts.
That ribeye was perfection in form........ Asparagus was done perfectly, and a very good time was had by all.
Service was excellent, food was better, and prices are very fair for what you get.
4 thumbs up!

Lots of hard work running a restaurant, I use to manage the Kitchen and cook at a few of out of town ones... that keeps you running without a doubt.

Following a visitation, 6 of us went to Satchs for dinner. 2 had cod VERY good, 1 had tenderloin, good, 1 had shrimp "really good", 1children's chicken tenders, she ate it all. & I had salmon, it was cooked just as I requested. The salads were really nice, the up charge for blue cheese was the cheapest I've found in LaSalleCo. Per Snipers experience we ordered the asparagus & it was perfection! One person said "that asparagus was out of this world!" Apart from me & MrR, all were from Ottawa, &they thought the place was very nice.

We drove by yesterday afternoon. Lots of cars. The 820 Club looks to be in good shape. Is it still open?

Glad to see you back FM. Just need to get that mobility going now. I agree, nice to see people taking some chances on Streator. Now they need our support and patronage, they deserve a chance. I am sure they are all trying their best. Thanks, MM

We went last night. They were really busy. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table but enjoyed a drink at the bar while waiting. I had filet mignon and it was perfect. I had a salad and wild rice to go with it. The rice was very good. We all were happy with our meals and I think the prices are good. The thing I like the most is that the acoustics are good. You can hear each other talking. The service could not have been better.
