One of the guys I worked with years ago told me that his in laws auto insurance wouldn't be renewed, not because of having claims, but by not having ANY claims. Reasoning was the law of averages said that they were due for a major claim and the insurance company was afraid it might have to pay out. Never had it cancelled, but 3 times now my Auto insurance has went much higher, I got the same thing from the agent every time. Still haven't had an accident.......... So go figure. I can't remember the insurance company that did it first, but Prudential and Progressive were the last 2. I tend to keep policies for decades unless they are jags..... SNIPER you say that you are with PEKIN, well let me tell you.....we were with them forever, even BEFORE it was made mandatory for auto insurance. We carried full coverage on all three of our automobiles, until one day on a whim we received some price comparison advertisement in the mail back in the '80's. I think that I may have been bored that day, or out of curiosity I ended up calling, and received a quote. Well let me tell ya...we were floored that comparative insurance through Pekin we'd been paying about DOUBLE the premium price per year!!! We did end up switching, but only after I went personally to see our agent, who was a good friend of my father's too as well.........to sit down with him in his office and pretty much demand an explanation. OF course I informed him that if he could possibly "match" that premium price (same exact coverage) , then of course being with his company for many years that we would stay. Ironically he couldn't match it, nor even come close. Since that day I have ultimately learned to "play" the insurance game, in which from experiences it is just that, a game! We have switched up auto and homeowners throughout the years, and have saved by doing so. The ONLY one that we don't ever consider switching up is our life insurance / annuity / stock policies. CALL and just check around SNIPER......... you might be enlightened. M

That's why you keep your newest car at least 10 years old........ Only 1 teen driver as of now, but 4 cars, ( 1 full coverage ) and 1700 a year......
Driving junk has it's advantages.

Ah, but it's not junk if you take care of it. Our newest car is ten years, then we have a 14 year old one, a 15 year old one, and a 50 year old one.

it is in everyone's best interest to shop around and compare prices when buying insurance of any kind.
