I saw that the old Cozy Corner is open again as Janney's(?) Cozy Corner. I have heard that name with other establishments from the past. Where did they operate before? Landmark? Anyway, I had no idea they were up and operating. This is the restaurant south of town at the corner of Rt 23 and Rt 17???

So, has anyone been into the new Mexican restaurant that is in chef toms?
How is the white cheese dip and salsa? That's my addiction. After chocolate, of course.

I was there Sunday there is litterly 3 items on their menu with the exception of different meats. However the food is great, In my opinion. Down fall is they only have can soda which is a $1.50, and the inside looks kinda "thrown" together. They also only have red and green salsa and the red might be a bit spicy for some.

What other kind of salsa is there? Purple? Maybe they'll get more on the menu? What were the 3 things?

LOL AUGUST ^^^ Margaritas. I think it's just a restaurant, and I don't think that there are any liquor licenses available now in town...BUT...I could be wrong though, I don't know. I would also though like to know the three items and meats that they have on their menu GWS...please post what they are? Eh...it's a beginning, and at least that building isn't sitting vacant too downtown. JMHO............ M

Yes, there are a large and a smaller planter put together on every block.. all the way down Main Street. Perhaps Light Up Streator committee put those up, along with the corn stalks / shucks surrounding all of the trees. I don't know who is responsible, but they look very nice. M The planters were in front of the Majestic. The owners of the Silver fox had permission to repurpose them, and they placed them throughout the downtown. I know what planters that were up in front of the Majestic, and now are uptown, which I was wondering what they'd end up doing with them. But these are newer fall planted planters that cover 7 or 8 downtown blocks. I KNOW that there weren't THAT many in front of the theatre .....to be spread out throughout the downtown retail area. It is nice to see the fall decor downtown, I hope that they do continue with the corn stalks / shucks / shocks all the way east to the Main street tracks, since there are planters in those blocks too as well now. Hat's off to the committee decorating...........it's looking quite festive! Thank you!.................. M

The items were tacos, tortas, and quesadillas. The meats. Were beef, steak, chicken, barbacola, and another one I don't know lol. I'd assume there just starting out and will expand their menu later on.

Thank You, GWS. The only place that made them was in Ottawa, the Hickory House & it's closed now. Taco Bell used to, called a Taco Lite.
