Funny, I am as far right as it gets, yet I abhor the idea that this country was founded on either Capitalism or Christianity. Sniper, Then we agree completely that "this country was founded (n)either Capitalism or Christianity". Oh, but I doubt if I'm as "far left" as gets. Shall we sit back and let those who BELIEVE this Country was founded on CAPITALISM AND CHRISTIANITY present their case, and you and I play, "Buckley and Vidal". g Sorry, I respect the Constitution, ALL of it. You don't. I know you aren't far left, you occupy the squishy center that stands for precious little.

Job, Do you care to share your interpretation of the book written in 1913 applies to today's world economy? How about the change in geopolitical borders? How many wars have occurred since 1913, that might change the conclusion upon which the author based his "interpretation"? Okay, I'll let you, Sniper, JimB, bigdipper, rocket, and chevypower keep us informed. See you at the polls. g Having any type of discussion with you is the intellectual equivalent of Adrian Peterson whooping a small child.

Having any type of discussion with you is the intellectual equivalent of Adrian Peterson whooping a small child. I love the way an "Ambulance Chaser" can change the name of a "Thread". Oh, and I have been "switched" as a small child. A gas bag Grad from the University Chicago, and "Ambulance Chaser", has no better retort than to change the "title" of the thread. Well done "Job", "roman". Now you may simply address me as "WAA", you know the resident "niggra", that worked at the funeral home. At least "WAA", made a honest living. Actually, "Job"/ "roman" I'd rather buy a "plain rib eye" at a Steak House in Chicago for "WAA" than share one with you that you purchased for me. Guess what loser, I get to chose who qualifies as a class person, oh, and it's not you. g

Kyle,
Did I hit a "nerve"?
You have to change the name of "your BLOG".
Oh wait, you never accept responsibility as a loser do you?
This does mark a low spot in your life in Streator. Good Luck in your future though and in selling your building in such a lousy location, as you have stated over and over again.

My somewhat self-evident comment that “[h]aving any type of discussion with you is the intellectual equivalent of Adrian Peterson whooping a small child” apparently knocked Greek completely off the rails. First, he inexplicably accused me of changing the name of the thread. Second, he changed Waa’s color from white to black. Third, he resorted to his old standby of name-calling.
Of course, I may be taking credit where I do not deserve it. Greek’s unraveling may have been caused by drinking too much Ouzo. In any event, his post offers amble verification of my initial observation about the folly of having any type of discussion with him.

All I've seen are just more of your BS attacks against me, like you've been doing for years. Too bad that you still don't have any valid points against what I talk about, just attacks. It is almost as if you think that the attacks on an insignificant citizen somehow negates all of the irresponsible governing from our City leaders that I point out. Yes, you can see me as a loser if you like, a victim of our City's leadership.

If you are a victim of our cities governance, how are so many others able to survive? Why are people opening businesses here if things are so bad?

Job, What other "job" gets paid whether they win or lose? Weather Forecasters For some reason, Greek likes to call me an ambulance chaser, a derogatory term for a personal injury lawyer. Those guys, however, do not get paid if they lose. Also, I don't know of any doctors or vets who charge on a contingency basis.

At some point in Greek's disjointed ramblings yesterday, he again took a shot at President Hoover. What Greek knows of Hoover is probably some half remembered comment made by his high school history teacher: "Hoover was wrong; he believed only in the trickle-down theory." A couple of FDR's closest advisers would not agree. Rexford G. Tugwell, one of the academics at the center of FDR’s `brains trust' said: `When it was all over, I once made a list of New Deal ventures begun during Hoover’s years as Secretary of Commerce and then as president. . . . The New Deal owed much to what he had begun.' Another member of the brains trust, Raymond Moley, wrote of that period: "When we all burst into Washington . . . we found every essential idea [of the New Deal] enacted in the 100-day Congress in the Hoover administration itself. The essentials of the NRA [National Recovery Administration], the PWA [Public Works Administration], the emergency relief setup were all there. Even the AAA [Agricultural Adjustment Act] was known to the Department of Agriculture. Only the TVA and the Securities Act was drawn from other sources. The RFC [Reconstruction Finance Corporation], probably the greatest recovery agency, was of course a Hoover measure, passed long before the inauguration. " Late in both of their lives, Tugwell wrote to Moley and said of Hoover, “we were too hard on a man who really invented most of the devices we used." There is an old adage that "[a ] little knowledge is a dangerous thing." In Greek's case, no knowledge is an even more dangerous thing.

Despite being a victim of city governance,I have been able to survive for 20 years in business and still going strong. I guess I have a much better business plan than the others who couldnt make it.

I do believe President Hoover was an engineer, and I believe he has an economic philosophy similar to Sniper. Guess why? Greek, I think you had better study your History books a wee bit harder. Hoover was no Constitutionalist, as a matter of fact, FDR simply polished off Hoovers pet legislation and pushed it thru with his Democrat majority. And the country went through it's very first multi-decade Depression................... Golly, sound familiar?
