Not a chance bud.............. Snipe, I know. You'll NEVER leave your Nanny Corporation and "Go Galt". g Greek, here's the difference, I am working my plan to remove myself from your world as soon as possible. Re-acquiring self sufficiency skills takes time, and yea, I am 7-10 years away. You will never own a business......... You can't imagine leaving your nanny states teat.

I don't know what the big deal about owning a business is anyway. Does that make someone better somehow?

I don't know what the big deal about owning a business is anyway. Does that make someone better somehow? Its a great feeling to owning a business. You have a feeling of having more control over what happens in your life. Its hard work with long hours initially, but when you get to the point where you have good employees, the business practically can run itself and you can sit back and reap the rewards of your work. No corporate crap to deal with, you make your own decisions. If you have a particular skill AND business sense, I would highly recommend giving it a shot. Skill alone, wont make you succeed, you need that business sense to effectively market your particular skill set.

Sniper, It at least gives us some business acumen and how to be "independently" successful. Not through "Inherited Wealth" but just hard work. You know the values that you propose to respect. g

Greek, I have no pension, it was taken back in 1995. All I have is what I manage to save.
Tell you what buddy, how about YOU try and be self sufficient for even a month and get back to us as to how long it takes to re-acquire the skillset.
I would LOVE to see you try and make soap or render lard, much less figure out how to grow food year round.................
But that's OK, keep making cracks about watching TV and generally being an idiot.

In any event, you can thank the Liberals for your Social Security.

Surprise! I recognized that a few decades ago. Which is why I decided to succeed or fail on my own work skills. Doing fine here Sniper, oh, and my retirement plan other than Social Security, which of course I paid into at a higher rate than you, is what I saved on my own. g

IF I am lucky, and I work till I am 68 years and 10 months, and IF the PBGC is still solvent, I will get $ 75.11 a month. And you are smoking dope if you think SS is going to be there for more than 10 more years.

Greek, this is precisely why I know you have no business. We pay EXACTLY the same rate into SS. You presume that I am too stupid to factor the additional 6.25 percent into my wage negotiations. SO how about you save your class warfare crap for someone who gets their news from CBS?
