I've been to 4 Corners once to place a take out order. I sat at a counter or table near the cashier while waiting and could see only 2 people running the place; a man cooking, a woman assisting him, waiting tables, and cashier. They were hard workers As soon as I walked in the door, the odor of sewer gas over powered any smell of food. If I hadn't been there for take out, I would have turned around and walked out with out looking at a menu. The odor was so overbearing and unpleasant, there was no way I could have stayed and eaten there. I believe this was after the last time they closed and reopened. There were plenty of very elderly people dining, I figured to be rural regulars. The prices were reasonable so I could see this to be an accessible and affordable place for people who live outside of town or in the outlining small towns to go for an early dinner. Anyone else experience the issue with the odor? I haven't been there in ages. One of my friends did experience the same experience as you with the odor.

MnM,
The sewer gas incident was approximately 2 trs. ago if my memory suits me correctly ( ? ) We definitely will try again especially because I could tell it was more of a "Home cooked food " establishment and I felt the prices were reasonable.
A place we've never tried; "The Rose Garden." I'm not sure I've read any posts about this restaurant on SOL.
Their sign always seems to read a good daily special and the parking lot generallly has many cars when I've driver by their.
Any Pro / Cons about......... "The Rose Garden " ?

Not a fan of Rose Garden. Food not bad there but I think owners are very rude people. Just my opinion. I also have not been out to Four Corners in forever. Did not go out to BullHeads and have never ate there. I had intentions of trying Bullheads but never had. Lately, the last two times that I ate out, I went to Chippers.

I like Rose garden better than Chippers. Their liver is pretty good and so are the breakfast items. JMHO. (I like The Brite Spot on Norris Dr. in Ottawa. Great food and service.)

I like Chippers, but actually DD is right. Rose Garden has good food & the owner is very nice & walks around, chatting & making sure you're ok etc...I guess it's how you present yourself & your attitude in public.

Personally I think chippers went downhill when busters closed, it was like they got the attitude that they were the only place in town and he could raise his prices and lower the quality!

I miss Busters--Al's Place just isn't the same. Satch's may be some competition for Chippers for the lunch & dinner times. The Bullpen was also a great place that is great to dine at.

I miss the wing-nite @ Busters! I love Bullpen too. It's not a "was" Sol., it's still open.

Jaenicke's homemade root beer seems to be the closest to what Oogies was like.

Totally in agreement with you on that one too. The times we've gone there the owner makes sure to come around and make sure that all is well with the food, and service. Plus they do offer more varieties and items on their menu. We've never had bad food, or service there. BRITE SPOT.....oh wow, how long has that place been in business? Thus being..........like you said, because of! We used to always go to the Hickory House over there on west Norris Drive..they had great food, great ribs!!!! Why did they go out of business, anyone know? M

Even with an Oogies coffee mug that I bought when they were going out of business........their tenderlions were paper thin. The root beer was to die for. JMHO.
