I saw three letters form Katie's attorney, but I missed any from Tim's attorney. Maybe that is the problem. Maybe Tim should get a real attorney, instead of taking his legal advice from a flooring installer.

I'll take the flooring installers legal advice before I listen to anything that comes spewing out of your mouth.

I'll take the flooring installers legal advice before I listen to anything the wal mart greeter says. I am hardly a walmart greeter as a matter of fact I am opening theatres other places, places where they don't let the drunks brawl and pull their pants down to drive customers away. You really do think that following the Flooring installers advice has provided good results for Tim and the movie-goers of Streator, don't you? Wow!

Have not heard much more about the theatre. Does the owner have to keep up insurance on this building?

I was wondering about insurance purposes just in case there would be a fire to the building. With the rumors that were flying, I surely hope that the people involved don't try to burn the place down, and make it look like a suspicion fire for insurance money. I would think that for what they are asking for the building, that it would be hard to sell.

quit possible, there are a lot who would do this crime, and as hard it is to make money now a days you never know.

Also there has not been a major fire, after the Lipton Tea building. Really have not heard much for fires lately. Did they finally get the person that was setting all those fires? With how the theatre handled closing the business, it would not surprise me if anyone that is associated with the theatre would try to set a fire for insurance purposes? it got awfully quiet about people being upset with the closing especially after someone thought that there was a scam going on. Calm before the storm. Just a thought.

Not that bored. I will be leaving my house here shortly and having to get some cough syrup. My son and I both have cold symptoms going on.

Looks like this will not be settled until they bring in the lawyers. Too many people telling different stories. This whole deal had gotten to be a soap opera. Sad, so very sad.

Don't know about it being settled with lawyers. But it got awfully quiet after someone bought up that there maybe a scam going on. That Tim Burke or Kate Troccoli would not answer questions to the Times press and the radio station. And especially after the fact that someone shared a post on face book about that Will Rogers theatre in Charleston, Illinois. Also don't see anyone on face book doing a popcorn challenge to help raise money for the theatre. It is sad that the business closed, and even sadder on how things were handled.

I don't know if I would call it mass hysteria, but having another boarded up movie theatre and a lack of entertainment in our community is not good for any of us here. Tim's corporation representing that donors will get value for giving up their money and then closing it up to take the money and run, is just wrong. I'll agree with conspiracy, but do you think that it is just a theory that his corporation solicited donations under the ruse of having an open theatre? It didn't work out bad for him the last time he did this type of thing, but the difference this time he is screwing the entire community, not just one family. If there are no consequences for his actions then I am confident that he will just go on to screw more people. KYLE...for one what are you comparing to? Your son's business is pretty much boarded up here as well, is it not? I walk by there all the time, and many people have pulled up in front only to find the doors there locked up, and closed too as well. That being said is not good either for this community or the whole downtown area, and that is also a huge building....on the main drag too. It is although refreshing to come on here and find you NOT bashing the City, or the SPD...btw. I didn't come back on this board though to bash you or your son's business, which I have stated in previous threads that I felt you and your family were an asset to this town. I refuse to join the social media bashing band-wagon here too regarding Tim and the Majestic. I won't post here what ALL he told me either regarding why you no longer managed that theatre...but don't you think that perhaps him and Katie have some major issues here...more then likely along the same lines? It does sadden me to see the theatre all boarded up and the "for sale" sign on her...and I for one cannot for the life of me even envision Tim selling her either. That theatre has always been a labor of love to him, as it was also to my father back in the '60's....so hense the high price tag, eh? $$$$ I have yet to talk to either Tim or Katie regarding ALL the truths here, which I am remaiming optimistic until I hear both sides of. If there happens to result in lawsuits then let there be, hopefully the truth will prevail. Until then I form NO oppinion. Very sad for those all involved, and also for our whole community too of course as well .... M BUMP...and yep, I knew that was the reasoning...financial with you KYLE, and now again with KATIE............................ Still quite sad among all, and of course our community,..... M

I miss the Majestic already. We have some nights available in our schedule now where we could attend. It doesn't seem to make any sense to shut down now. They got the projectors, that opens the doors to more movie choices. Even if he is wanting to sell, isn't it easier to sell a business that is up and operating? The Fall season is coming for new blockbuster movies too. I am not sure he will get much support from the community now though. Tim is a great friend of our family...we have a family "LIFE TIME" pass to that theatre, in which none of us do use because we feel that we will contribute to the cause in keeping that theatre open and NOT use it...in a sense that is our contributions then, really by paying to go there... when we aren't at all required to do. I have faith in Tim that things will work out and the theatre will again be open...under new management. Whatever the issues are between him and his partners that he has had in the past decade he does have a legitimate reasoning for them not working out. Granted Tim is clear out in California...BUT he still holds true to his roots here in Streator, and he saved that theatre yet AGAIN when he bought it back in the '90's..the tenacity that my father did have, and the love of too. As far as the community supporting HIM.............c'mon.......................really ? He saved that theatre for the second time from Kerosotes Theaters..........................whatever "corporation name" that it might eventually end up under................YES support this grand theatre. It's all we have here.......................and will ever have, apparently. M
