FOT, I think that had more to do with not being able to cover expenses............ While a lovely new facility, it's operational expenses were far,far higher than the Majestic ever could be. It is academic though, the Majestic clearly did not go broke, they had sufficient operating capital and an owner who was willing to work for nothing to try and get it going well. The Majestic's closing also had nothing to do with bar fights or public urination......... Do you really think that people pulling their pants down in the middle of the streets, calling police threatening to kill everyone and the brutal street fights don't keep any customers away? FOT says 5%, I think that is low, but don't you think that another $50,000.00 in revenue might have made Tim less apt to call it a failed business? Why should any other business have to try to survive with any less customers, when we have laws in place (for these reasons) that could just start being enforced? You have zero business sense. It's obvious since you keep saying people fighting and peeing in the streets was the cause. Then there is the fact that you've had other failed businesses. You're just a boob. There are theaters in downtown Chicago that are packed every night where not only are there fights outside and people peeing, but shootings, too. You keep saying the same crap over and over and you're wrong

It's obvious since you keep saying people fighting and peeing in the middle of the street around a family business doesn't hurt business. With millions and millions of people, I sure would hope that Chicago would be able to support a movie theatre. Does the City of Chicago let people just walk away from the crimes without any consequences? Do they tell business owners who ask that the laws be enforced to just leave and unjustly attack their families? Too bad that we can't just have our laws enforced so that we could have at least just one theatre, don't you think? Instead they caved in to the bar owners to allow them to just keep doing things as they have been with no solution to the "increasing" problems. So what is it that has you so upset oldtimer? It appears that you will still able to get over-served, pull your pants down, and fight in the middle of our streets all you want. Quite a few people here seem to think that it is perfectly acceptable. If it is so acceptable, there shouldn't be a problem with my talking about the "increasing" problems that our City leaders allow, wouldn't you think?

What happened to the POPCORN MACHINE at the failed Theater? g Gee greek, maybe it is popping corn for people to enjoy while being entertained by some of the big summer films and creating tax revenue for another community. Are you opening a theatre, is that why you are looking for a popper? There's a company right up in Chicago that makes them.

Just imagine how much further down the list we would probably be if the study took into consideration things like selective enforcement of overly restrictive ordinances, making false public declarations that business owners are illegal, and giving requirments that din't even follow our laws.

I suppose that it would be a simple question for someone who was actually involved with the theatre. However, greek knows very well that I have not been involved with the theatre for years. Just like the failed attempts to link me to the missing digital projectors, do you think there is any real basis for greek to think I would know what happened to the popper? Wouldn't you expect that the popper would be right in the concession stand where it always sat? Do you think greek has some inside information that it is missing to create such an inquisition? Was it an inspection of the theatre to make an offer on the building that made him realize that it was missing? Was he planning on using it as collateral for his business loan? Does it really matter at all what happened to it? Wouldn't it have been an asset of the theatre corporation (with no theatre) to do with as they like snd possibly be sold to pay for expenses such as their legal battles? Isn't the sad and more important issue that Streator can't seem to even support a theatre to even need a popper? If you really want my best guess, I'd say that it is probably in Katie's garage next to the digital projectors that people donated to "save" her for profit business venture even though she was not capable of delivering on it.

I wonder why no one asked GREEK just WHY would Kyle know where the popcorn popper went?
That would have been a relevant question.......
How about it GREEK?

Come on now, when has greek ever provided any answers that have made any sense? Or asked questions that made any sense? Sniper, Since you and Kyle are both recognized as business failures, through no fault of your own, it was all about your "partners", neither of you offer anything to understanding of "Main Street" businesses. Hey, Snipe can you offer Kyle a job? g

Perhaps Greek can give all of us a profit margin on the fiscal year of 2015 when that time comes? something tells me the numbers will be way down than it was in 2014. And 2016 will be a loss, having seen how it's been lately, it's looking grim.
