How is it that I have Livingston counties frequency on the scanner as 460.100 and chicago is coming on and I googled illinois livingston county frequecy and its what i have programmed and then when I searched the frequency number it shows up chicago. www.interceptradio.com/slocal.php?disp=1&country=US&state=IL&county=Livingstonwww.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/763 on the first link it shows livingston country and if u click the 2nd one and scroll down under notes and look for 460.100 and it says chicago. on are scanner it automatically adds another zero so it shows up as 460.1000 and both 460.100 and 1000 shows chicago. here is the google search I did and if u look at all the searches some say livingston county and the others say chicago. the numbers will be in bold

I would find another hobby to do. Cause the scanner days are coming to an end soon. With our current police chief having fbi experience, won't be long before police and fire have encrypted radios to permanently block all radio transmissions from going over the scanners. Good thing for criminals and rubber kneckers. Bad thing for law abiding people to no longer hear what is going on in there neighborhoods to be alert and be able to help police find the perps they are chasing. There are a lot of cities across the U.S. now that are going to encrypted radios.

I am a law abiding citizen. I have one so I can hear if anything is going on in my neighborhood. Just cause I have a scanner don't mean im not a law abiding citizen. And I don't have a scanner just for a hobby. I don't listen to it everywhere I go. Most of the time livingston county comes in on that frequency and sometimes at night chicago comes in.

You are listening to skip. Sunspots are strong and opens up the atmosphere to allow radio signals to go farther out to where they never normally reach. Just like cb days era when you have people from another state talking on the cb and you intercept there communication that you normally couldn't do daily. I been hearing police traffic from the springfield il area lately that I never heard before. Cause the sun spots are strong right now that is allowing radio signals to travel farther then they normally do.
