What surprised me was that west of town where I am it rained but the creeks didn't seem to rise..When I went to Grundy Friday night every creek east of town seemed to be at the top or over its banks..

Ok, those barricades at the underpass are there for a reason people. Yet some dumb driver kept driving and started to go around those barricades at the same speed until they saw the high standing water over the roadway ,then stopped quickly. Commonsense ,heavy rain =flooding especially underpasses.. Hey Rocket, how about you advise folks of the high water and then let them decide what to do? There isn't 8" of water, we just went thru, never even got my brakes wet. Commonsense = knowing what YOUR vehicle will do. With all of the video of sink holes, and streators history of them, and the mines that run under this town...that under 8" coulda been 8'. Or 28

I avoid driving in the left lane on park st, there by Monroe area, where that sink hole was. Then I think most others are doing same as me, and one day the right lane is going to open lol
