How fo you feel about the free breakfast and lunch at the elementary level school? Kids need to eat. Times are tough. I wonder if the kids know that China is lending us the money to buy their food?

Funny thing, back when we went to school, we had breakfast and lunch...... nobody paid extra, it was in the budget.
I guess things do come full circle, except now the lunch ladies don't cook from scratch.

Sniper, where did you go to school that the school district paid for your lunch, for everyone. I had to pay for my lunch from first grade, till Sr yr. I don't think they had free lunch back then. And I never once had breakfast at school.
I started a thread a month or so ago about the change to everyone receiving free lunch now. You can make 6 figures, and you won't be required to pay for your child's lunch.

Those kids always qualified for free lunch. Now, even those that can afford it, will get free lunch.
My concern is, how are we suppose to keep paying for all of these growing programs?
It's the working Americans that are funding these programs, and that population is shrinking.

Lunch ladies were all Farmers wives, they seemed old to us, but in reality were middle aged...... Every one of us LOVED the LL's, they knew how to cook.

Now this giveaway will allow the parents to buy more cigarettes, extra large fountain pop and candy at the gas stations, with their modest disposable income. Sounds like more entitlements by the dumbacrats and republicans, for a vote or two. Borrow more from China and increase the national debt! Is sterilization the answer?

This is my opinion. When a person is on link, I do think the government should put a list on what is allowed to by on link and what you not be able to buy on link. I think the junk food (like pop, chips, candy) should not be allowed to by on link.

I dunno, I can't imagine anyone objecting to feeding a child. Children are the most valuable resource this country possesses. Can't learn anything if you are so hungry you're thinking about eating your notebook. Its really not a child's fault if he or she has a parent that cannot provide for them.

How can you be against government programs that help children and then advocate for a forced sterilization program from that same government? Stop reading those old Lothrop Stoddard books and realize you are espousing supremest/19th century eugenics.

The program already fed kids who were low income. NOW the entire student body gets free lunch, if there's a certain percentage of low income families in the school. I have no problem feeding kids that are low income. But, do we need to feed the Hilton's, Kardashians, Kennedy's of the nation?
