Our nation's manner of delivering health care (Obamacare) has been the subject of the fiercest debate seen since the anti-Vietnam War era. Our Congress voted it in as the law of the land.
NOT SO with the complete revision of our nation's education system with the consequent adoption of unnecessary and age-inappropriate methods and standards "slid under the door" while America's attention was on other things.
Well....WAKE UP...the bill for our casual adoption of a national education system is "in the mail" and about to explode across America as the next really intense hot button issue.
The skirmishing has gone on for a couple of years...the battles in every state increasing in this war - as more and more citizens become aware of the truths behind the lies.
Nobody asked for CC and nobody voted for it...wake up out there!

For many people the opinions of the "spin doctors" are all they believe & seem to never consider matters on their own. I recall little reaction when NCLB was implemented, & i had several friends teaching elementary school at that time, & all were equally aghast. Now many of those students are attempting to perform @ a college freshman level and are completely lacking in the necessary tools to learn at the college level. But it gets so confusing because somehow they graduated from high school, but they can comprehend reading materials only at the 6th grade level. Plus many schools seem to fully embrace the students "right to ...." whatever they may want to attempt and of course one of those so called rights is the right to fail :-(

Students were given the right to fail, as odd as that may sound.
The amount of absolute BS being extolled by "experts" as "best classroom practices" is ruining the profession, often turning classrooms into unmanageable circuses. Don't blame the teachers...they know what works and what doesn't, but for political and social reasons, teachers are the very stakeholders whose ideas are brushed aside as old fashioned and not cutting edge. Some traitors, though...jump on whatever the current pedagogical bandwagon rolls by and act as "consultants" or "trainers"...helping to foster and implement the latest educational craze.
It's a ******* mess.

I'm hopeful that parents may be caused to think a bit about what is & is not being taught to their children, as the kids have problems with the new curriculum.
