Was that filmed in Streator? It looks like downtown Streator but I didn't see any drunken brawls or people peeing in the streets so I figured it must have been filmed somewhere else.

It was probably edited out. Lol just kidding. That was so cool. Streator should be proud to have the Silver Fox.

Streator was mentioned again today on WGN. Walt Willey was promoting his play that will run next weekend in Ottawa. In the interview he touted the performances of the actors appearing in it. Streator was at the top of the list of towns he mentioned as having actors in this play.

Great use of an old building, keeping with the architectural style. My phone won't play the clip, but I've seen their pics on fb, and know they kept what they could during renovations. If you haven't been to their fb page, do check it out. They have some great pics. Unfortunately, I've had to work on everyone of their open houses/art shows, etc. I love old buildings. I even like the old exposed wall in the pocket park, on Monroe st.

Another thread being turned into an attack on me when there is already a thread to talk about these subjects (where you'll find my real response to this post), It seems that some people really want to talk about those things rather than the positive this thread was started for. Yes, congratulations to Bill Phelan and Sarah Besser on being featured for their hard work and great investment in our downtown. i saw the building shortly after they began working and a couple of times since. They have done a great job and had obviously invested a lot when I had last seen it. Since then I've noticed local HVAC company trucks there and the addition of three large compressor units, I bet that took another large chunk of cash. Thank you to them for investing so heavily in our downtown. I wish them great success.

OHHHH..........that was great! I love hearing success stories, and not all the gloom and doom that the news gravitates too. Another yet "secret society", wonder what that box does really mean? Just like when the Majestic bought and added their second cinema with the Liptak Funeral Home. Upstairs was the meeting hall of The Odd Fellows of Streator. I have this small coffin, a crudely made hand with a heart in the middle of it, and a skull and crossbones..that were supposedly used in their organization rituals. As to what they all signify and mean...I can not find that info out..................... I have contacted many Odd Fellow organizations online...but they are all so secretive regarding. LOVE these kind of historical stories.................. KUDOS to The Silver Fox!!! M

Kyle doesn't seem to get that his constant attacks on people of this town make him vulnerable to jokes being made around his ludicrous posts.
It appears that any of us that supported him on some of his thoughts have long since been alienated, and are now targets for his campaign to ruin people.

As we waited for the traffic signal to change I used the time to admire the beauty of that building. What a gift to all of us it is, to have such a beauty restored in our town.

Does anyone know what the minimal number would be to have an event at the SF?

That's a great question. I know the owner is on here once in awhile.
