Retread is what I would call it. Streator cannot think ahead and hires all these worn out city mis-managers. This is not an overseas city and the town has problems, that the brownies over there do not have. Was that an official city council meeting that the council members initially talked to the new (old) candidate and was an agenda posted, if so? Sounds like the good old boys agenda in full swing and closed door politics. Wow.

Streator is very fortunate that mr. Wrighton is coming back. His credentials are impressive. This was not a good ol boys vote of the council. There are at least two new members that were voted in to office. They both had individual time with Scot to question him and they voted for him. Mr. Wrighton will be very good for Streator, just give him a chance.

The man hasn't even begun, and is being attacked. I would like to see what happens before joining in on the attacks. I would think he would do a much better job if he's welcomed, rather than if he feels animosity. We are all more productive if we enjoy our job, than if it's a hostile environment, don't you think?

Dale Chiavene, former mayor in late 80's into 1991. I do appreciate that Mr. Wrighton likes our town enough to have visited here over the years. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Kyle's taking isolated quotes and turning them into a mountain when I really believe there's nothing to it. Mr. Wrighton knows our town. He knows a lot of the people. I'll support him until he does something that changes that but I doubt that will happen. It should be a smooth transition, which I'm happy about.

Mr. Wrighton and Mayor Chiavene, had a tough row to hoe, when Streator elected to go to a new form or City Government. Unfortunately, they "took the fall" when "sewer fees" were levied due to the failure of other mayors and city council members, not meeting the EPA guidelines in a timely fashion. All they could do is implement the sewer fees that could have been avoided. g

Just to be clear, THIS is where I posted this comment. It was simply my thoughts on discussing the new city manager. It has nothing to do with any other threads. Eva, seems this is what happens when I try to dance
