^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Bigdipper, What a great post! Yes indeed things in Streator are not all "gloom and doom". What is the name of that "ice cream" place on the South Side of Streator? Oops, the North side of Livingston County. g Thank You Greek, that's The Big Dipper. 1901 S. Bloomington St. Streator(South Streator), IL. 61364 I think you and most of the rest of the regulars here knew that already. A number of regular SOL folks have stopped by and introduced themselves. Stop on out some evening Greek, unless maybe you don't like ice cream, shakes, malts, sundaes, marshmallow cokes, Dog-n-Suds Root Beer, floats, real fruit smoothies(made with fruit puree, no beet sugar, cane sugar or high fructose corn syrup, a healthy and refreshing drink), frozen lemonade available in several flavors,..... Brownie Delights,...........I am sure there is more........ Oh Yeah, Banana Splits, upside down banana splits, turtle sundaes and MORE. Green River Soda, just $1 for a quart. We do NOT have that yummy buttery popcorn that is always just right at the MAJESTIC THEATRE though. bigdipper, I just wanted to make certain you could do a lot of self-promoting. Glad you got that menu out. I always shop First in Steator, Second in LaSalle County, and buy all the American products I can. Oh, and I look for the Union Label! g

I can vouch for bigdippers ice cream & smoothies so far ... He & his wife knows & understands why I can't go much, but I do go when I get a "Sweet tooth." And ... of course nice convos too! BTW, I know for a FACT that Katchewan Lakes IS getting out-of-towners & local support! They are a hard-working group out there & have many more ideas to add for the future & campers/childrens enjoyment! Keep an eye on thier facebook page peeps! I love the Majestic & will continue to support them. Bull Pen has very good food & I'm looking forward to my ... THIRD visit! I haven't been to an event yet @ the Silver Fox, but have heard all good things about it. Also the choice to rent a room across from the park & tell frineds & family about it too. I look forward to the "New" Industrail Park, coming to the old Tuscora plant area too!

That glass half full view always seems to get people farther in life. Even if it doesn't get you farther, it makes life just a little more enjoyable. I am really pleased that Katchewan is off to a good start. We all complain that there is 'nothing to do', I love it that a place from my youth is springing back to life again. Shhh...........don't tell anyone that perhaps Streator might be on an upswing....you ALL know the cynics!!! LOVE the "glass half full" observational point here MM.............. M

My guy suggested a movie yesterday, but it's been such a chaotic week, that I opted for sending him to video store and got comfy on the couch. Lol For all the complaints that there's never anything to do, I find it hard to find time to get everything in. I had my granddaughter for the week, and did not work in miniature golf or the carnival before I had to take her home on wed. I got her home in time to leave for Fair Stl, where we saw a concert, a tight rope walker, and finished with the fireworks. While the fireworks were excellent, streators were of the same caliber. I'm glad that I went,b because it reiterated how nice streators are, that they can measure up to those of Stl. Awesome, huh? Anyway, after such a busy week, I had to pass again, on the majestic. Still haven't had time to get to the Bullpen, either. For one week, I'd give anything to be one of those bored kiddos, that can't find anything to do. I'd camp out under a shade tree, and read. Lol

Lol, comma instead of period? Is that to avoid mnm's wrath of bumping with a period, instead of SAYING something, like BUMP? Teeheehee
