Of the F2 tornado that hit Illinois in 2010. I am sure it means nothing to some, but for many, lives were forever changed.

It sure did a tap dance on your street! I remember that the Mennonites help w/the clean up. It was really terrible

The streator looters sure were out and about. Little chi-town should be so proud. Easy pickings and great selection .

It was a miracle that everyone was alright when that tornado hit, their was a lot of devastation on the South of town.

The cross and tornado, in my avatar, was carved by my brother, from one of my fallen cedar trees.

Your brother is pretty talented. How neat is that? I can't say the tornado changed my life but I will never forget it. I was in tears walking through the neighborhood because I was sure that there had to be people who died. What a surprise that everyone survived it. I never had so much company as I had the next day when people were walking through. We came out ahead with the tornado. A better deck and the house next door that was in horrible shape was torn down. It still makes me sad to see Oakland Park without all of the big trees though.

I agree Lucky1, Oakland Park looks so different. But I noticed that someone planted a new crop of trees there as soon as it was possible. They will be back, but it will take a long time. So sad.

I don't find myself in that neighborhood often. When I do, I find it is still disorienting.

Yes Danchris also gave us some trees. Red maples.
