There is a tire slasher in the area of lundy and Illinois st. 2nd vehicle within a month that has all 4 tires slashed sitting in the parking lot across from the tavern . The one before that was some poor woman that went into church for an hr and came back out finding all 4 of her tires on her car was slashed. You would think those cameras outside the tavern would have caught the person doing it by now. These are happening in broad daylight.

If you live in a residential neighborhood in a house, most houses sit back atleast 50ft from the rd and yes the easement is 25ft in off the roadway. The easement for my place comes up to my sidewalk that goes from the house to the street.

I doubt this guy is on his way to the pet store. I saw 2 of them in the neighborhood, and was working inside all day, as it was rainy. I never even gave it a thought. Usually, they go further south, toward Katchewan Lake. I have had many different birds, since the tornado.

It has stolen beautiful dreams from Streator. I am glad that our community leaders have not buried their heads in the sand about this issue. I'm sure that it is not the best thing for there to be articles in the paper about Streator having such heroin problem. However without informing people that it is a problem and having open discussions of solutions, I think it would just continue to become a bigger problem. I haven't heard my detractors who like to say that I shouldn't talk about the problems that I see because bar violence has gone on for a long time and goes on other places, talking about how long heroin has been around and how many other places it is a problem. I doubt that they really think that the drug developed over 100 years ago being a world wide problem would justify allowing it to steal any more of Streator's beautiful dreams. I never understood how they thought those type of factors justify allowing people to continue beating each other up in the streets.

I never understood how they thought those type of factors justify allowing people to continue beating each other up in the streets. I am glad to see people focus on the drug issue too. I wont try to justify not taking action against that kind of problem and it should be talked about and addressed. We have talked before about the heroin in Ottawa. Heroin and other destructive illegal drugs are a menace to society. Us, detractors as you call us, would probably want more police resources devoted to fighting those type of drugs, than responding to bar fights. Most of the time, people wont press charges against the people they were fighting with and probably ending up drinking together or socializing the next night anyway. I have noticed on a few posts how you beg officers to take a statement and make an arrest or people fight in front of the cops with no arrests being made. You seem to always blame our elected officials. Are they the ones who tell the cops not to make arrests? Should there be some accountability for the chief or maybe the shift leaders, or maybe the officer themselves? Where is the order to not arrest people for fighting actually coming from?

I agree, Heroin is the worst drug a person can use, they say a big percentage are on heroin around these parts (wow) is all I can say, that stuff will make a person do anything to get their next fix.

Us, detractors as you call us, would probably want more police resources devoted to fighting those type of drugs, than responding to bar fights. I have said many times that I don't want our police to have to spend their resources babysitting the bars. I want our City leaders to take administrative action to convince the bar owners to be more responsible community members and keep these things from happening so often, That way our police could have even more time to spend on problems like heroin. Most of the time, people wont press charges against the people they were fighting with and probably ending up drinking together or socializing the next night anyway. How is it that you know that? In one of my videos, the time between when the officer drew his weapon to get them to stop fighting and him letting them walk away as he turned to the other direction was only a couple of seconds. Do you really think he had time to ask if they wanted to press charges against each other? Do the offenders always have to press charges against each other for charges to be filed? Do our courts put no weight on the eyewitness testimony of our police officers? I have noticed on a few posts how you beg officers to take a statement and make an arrest or people fight in front of the cops with no arrests being made. You seem to always blame our elected officials. Are they the ones who tell the cops not to make arrests? I think that our City leaders do and should set policy. I think they should set policy through the appropriate channels; if there are specific problems in the community that are not being addressed they should be able to have the City Manager instruct the Police Chief to pass directives down the line to get the job done. I think that they also set policy by budgeting the appropriate funds, or not, to get the job done, or not. If we don't have enough officers on the street for them to be able to spend enough time to ask offenders if they want to press charges against each other, or to take an eyewitness statement of a mugging, it certainly isn't the officer's fault, is it? Should there be some accountability for the chief or maybe the shift leaders, or maybe the officer themselves? Where is the order to not arrest people for fighting actually coming from? I think that there is accountability for the chief. How old was our last one when he retired? It seems that I remember him being rather young. It makes me wonder if he was being held accountable. Can't our City Manager fire our current chief if he doesn't get the job done? Maybe the restructuring of SPD with more collective bargaining exempt positions is our City leaders taking action to try to get the job done better by increasing accountability? They haven't said exactly that from what I've heard at council meetings or in the paper, but I think it could be part of the change that could help. I do think that it would be good if they have better numbers to talk about next year.

When you talk about administrative action, what type of violation of the law, would result in a suspension or revocation of a liquor license? I would think staying open past closing time, serving minors, or having minors after a certain time, would result in some type of action. Do fights or incidents of public urination not occurring on their property, give the city the legal justification to suspend or revoke a license? I couldn't seem to find a specific list of violations that could result in action against a license holder. Once again, it is unfortunate you cant have a peaceful nights sleep.

Now wth steals fish. I don't think those kind of fish you have are the kind you can eat. What are they going to do sell them to the pet store? I want to answer, respectfully, so here goes. Some Koi fish, are worth alot of money. The bigger they are, the more money. So, in that case, someone, could very well take them, but it would have to be in daylight. A small Malasian Koi,goes for about 15 dollars. Some of the fish I lost, w/ the tornado, where probably valued at 75 dollars or more. So, if a HEROIN addict, really wanted them, I guess, they could make a buck off of them. Update, to my lost fish. After several days, a few have reamerged(sp) but no longer eat out of my hand.
