Does such an evaluation instrument exist in these two districts here in Streator? If I was a school board member, I would sure like to know what my teacher's think about how their schools and the district as a whole are being run.
The assumption that all or even MOST teachers are stupid, incompetent, and unable to walk down the street and chew gum at the same time is one shared by their natural adversaries: administrators and law firms hired by school administrations. Whoopee...let's hear both sides of the story.
Is there a rule, statute, or anything else stopping the teachers from submitting to their school boards a union-generated evaluation instrument individually filled out by teachers?
Seems like common sense to me. Any teachers or tax payers on here? Take note!

Are science teachers, etc., ALSO teaching other subjects out of their disciplines? WTF! Annnnnnd... this is happening with the implementation of the new Common Core nightmare and new evaluation protocols? Let me point out that we have now doubled or even tripled these people's work load...while giving FRIGGIN RAISES to their bosses!

Yeah, come do all those things. Then spare a thought or two for the people that taught them how to do that stuff.
It's the in thing now to hate teachers. Especially for the ones who find it easier to whine about how good teachers have it, instead of (as I've said before) actually becoming teachers themselves and enjoying all those perks.

Seriously, what do you think the teachers will say about the schools and the district? If I remember correctly they closed a school, they're laying off staff and they put a hold on all raises. Now, knowing all this vitail information, what do you think the teachers will say about the district? You have no common sense.

Teachers ARE intelligent enough to differentiate between the running of the district as a whole and the quality and competency of the principals who run the buildings where they do their jobs. Both of these areas of supervision need to be evaluated by our teaching, custodial, secretarial, and food service professionals...no matter WHAT the overall situation looks like.
How do you arrive at your conclusion about me having no common sense based on those ideas?

You equate college educated teaching professionals evaluating their administrations with children in grades K-8 evaluating their college educated adult teachers? Are you: 1. Trying to demean my statements? 2. Trying to further demean the teachers in this district? 3. Being stupid? 4. Showing your ignorance? 5. Trying to be funny? My answer is no, by the way.

I base my conclusion that you have no common sense based on comments in this thread and other posts I've read from you. You're off base most of the time Well, I've just shown above how your "no common sense" comment was "off base" concerning this post. I'm sure I could defend other posts I've written from your arbitrary assessment of them. Get better arguments. (I know, I know... I'm not worth it, you're not going to waste your time...etc., etc., etc...meaning - you can't.)

Teachers input would be valuable to a board on the Principals, since they deal with them daily. I would also value Principal input on the Administration people since they work directly with them. I would put more stock in the opinion of the Principals evaluations of both groups. The principals currently do the evaluations of teachers and the Supt evaluates the Principals. The board evaluates the Admin group. The public evaluates the board every two years at election time. Unfortunately there are either just enough candidates to run or either one more then is needed or not enough. Then an appointment is made. I value the input from all people in regards to all district staff and frequently ask for input from students, teachers, principals and parents.

A common view of the SES #44 school board for the past decade, at least, is that the district administrators have always "run the show" and that the school board members are reactive and passive instead of proactive and fully engaged.
