It was explained to you earlier in this thread the history of Canale Real Estate, but you choose to ignore that because it doesn't fit your agenda. You also choose to ignore the follow up piece to the bar violence story that the reporter published. You are a negative Nellie. It's a shame that you are stuck in such a crummy town as Streator. What a shame. If only there were other towns that would meet all of your criteria. However, I don't think a place exists that you would be happy to be living in. I, for one, am so sick and tired of hearing you run down this town. I am not an original Streatorite. I have lived in other places but this is home. Quit running down our town (and us) at every turn. Great observations, there is no Utopia, and attitude is everything in life. You wake up every morning and despite your circumstances, you can choose to be happy or choose to be miserable. I know, I know, people may be in constant pain or life's burdens get you down, most of us have been there one time or another, but it is the attitude you have that will help carry the day. Choose to be happy or choose misery, We do have our share of challenges in town, and maybe not every decision is perfect, that's just life. Get over it, and get on with life and do something positive. Talking about 'problems' constantly and overblowing the situations on here is certainly perpetuating Streator's bad reputation to 'out of towners' more than it is helping to create positive change. I LIKE our town, and the people that live here. They are my kind of people, honest, hard working blue collar folks. We may not be the most enlightened or educated or wealthy, but we don't have to be told our shortcomings when you don't see our strengths, that we are honest, hard working and caring. We work hard and maybe sometimes we play a little too hard too. We might laugh a little too loudly in Public. We are who we are. Despite all our blemishes, we have some awesome people here in little old Streator. I have said many times that there are a lot of very good people here. I talk to many that agree with me that they want Streator to head in a better direction. I tried having a positive attitude with our City, however there comes a point when you just have to accept the way that they are. I will not just get over it or accept it until things are done differently so that our community starts to improve. Allowing us to continue in the same direction is just not acceptable to me. Just because I post my complaints on here does not mean that I choose to be miserable, but it would be a lot easier to be happier with a better business, economic, and family environment. I haven't been over-blowing any situation. I didn't make up the numbers in the newspaper. Do you really think that it is my talking about the fights that is the problem and not the actual fighting? I didn't start talking about it publicly until about three years ago, doesn't that reputation go a lot further back than that? Not talking about it sure didn't make the reputation or the underlying problem go away, did it? I do see the strengths here. I consider myself to be a hard worker as well. I talk to a lot of awesome people who don't think that they deserve to have their City brought down by poor leadership continuing us in the same direction.

You also choose to ignore the follow up piece to the bar violence story that the reporter published. How about the above Kyle? How about it? I already addressed those comments on page 5. Do you think that the death of one person caused all of Streator's real estate offices to close? Don't you think that if it were a profitable business that it would have been kept open, sold, or another one opened? Do you think that there is no chance that the lack of interest in buying property in Streator has created a situation that not enough of it sells to support a local real estate office? Does the follow up piece say that the numbers in the original article are untrue? Does it say that the violence is acceptable and that decreasing the number of incidents should not be a goal, or does it confirm that Streator does have an undesirable reputation? Are those anonymous comments what you stand behind to justify that I am twisted, distorted and biased or do you have any real points of your own to make?

Kyle, you said that I don't use "specifics." You may have forgotten that I was the one who exposed why you fled Arizona. At the time, you were trying to impress people on the board about your business acumen. Remember Kyle? According to your comments in the Arizona paper, your "investors" lost a large amount of money. I also mentioned what most posters knew; you were drop-kicked from your job at the Majestic. I also responded to one of your rambling posts about people who didn't pay their taxes by pointing out that you nearly lost your building because you didn't pay your taxes.

I also mentioned what most posters knew; you were drop-kicked from your job at the Majestic. I also responded to one of your rambling posts about people who didn't pay their taxes by pointing out that you nearly lost your building because you didn't pay your taxes. As I pointed out to you the majority of the investment that was lost was ours and we did not flee Arizona. Our lease was not being renewed because as the mall announced, they were offering our competitor a location across our parking lot. The article you posted didn't really point out that there were considerable assets from the business that my investors said I should bring to Streator to benefit my business at the Majestic because they knew how much we put into the business and how much good we did over our five years there. I am still very proud of my business in Flagstaff. The business is still giving back, when you sit in the green seats with cup holders on the main floor of the Majestic, think of my Flagstaff theatre, I could list more items. We were trying to decide what to do when our lease was not renewed. There was a group of people that was trying very hard to convince us to move to Streator to open the Majestic. The first time I brought Cindy to Streator was Nov. 2006, Tim called it a cajoling party. We were apprehensive, but the group worked hard at trying to convince us to move here. Yes, I would agree with your term drop kicked, since his story about big money people from Pennsylvania saving the place turned out to be nothing but BS, despite our 30 year friendship. Yes, I did pay my taxes late and it did cost me a considerable amount more, but I did pay them and didn't get out of anything like some businesses do. Yes, you do try to provide some specifics to try to attack me, however you don't provide any specifics opposing the matters that I speak about. I thought maybe you'd try to explain how our leaders deciding what subjects can be talked about in City Park at election time was justified by our First Amendment, or industrial zoning required by our zoning ordinance. When you really think about it, isn't a private citizen paying some taxes late pretty petty compared to our elected officials stopping a business and controlling an election?

I would think that as a lawyer, Job would be very careful to not to say anything that would be construed as a legal opinion or advice online. I am thinking that there would be some type of ethical code or law that he has to follow in regards to these matters.

Maybe you are right and there is a chance that job's high ethics makes him attack me rather than provide a law that would give our leaders the power to control what we can talk about and stop a business, but I think there is an even better chance that we will see pigs fly.

That "considerable amount" was around $200.

Kyle said: "Yes, I did pay my taxes late and it did cost me a considerable amount more... ." That "considerable amount" was around $200. Well, I think it was more than that, but it was whatever consequences our laws allow for. If you think that paying some taxes late is so terrible and there should be more consequences, you certainly can attend county board meetings and ask them for more consequences. I feel that controlling free speech to keep voters from hearing candidates ideas at election time is a lot more serious of a problem. Our Constitution is already in place, but our leaders do not honor the rights that it provides us, so there is no sense in my asking for more laws. Instead I am asking for new leaders that do respect our Constitution and are not afraid to let voters hear the ideas of others.

Kyle replied: "Well, I think it was more than that... ." Job responds: "Actually, the correct number was $154.40." I remember it costing me more, but I'll check my records and certainly apologize if I am wrong. Either way though is it really that big of a deal compared to our Mayor stopping a business from opening with a requirement that is not even supported by our laws? My paying some taxes late didn't really keep a building vacant and stop some jobs, tax revenue and tourism form coming here. Compared to trying to keep voters from hearing the ideas that other candidates may have when deciding who should lead our community, an insignificant individual paying some taxes late hardly seems worth mentioning. Do you think they were afraid that they couldn't win the election if voters were allowed to hear the ideas of others, or do they just despise the U.S. Constitution?

The "big deal" is that your posts above show, once again, that you are not credible. At worst, you are a liar; at best, you cannot even report correctly the details of your own finances. I rechecked the records, and found that my initial comment of "around $200" was correct.
Collected Taxes: $1,135.62 Fees: $124.46 Interest: $68.13 Collection Status: Redeemed

I rechecked the records, and found that my initial comment of "around $200" was correct. Collected Taxes: $1,135.62 Fees: $124.46 Interest: $68.13 Collection Status: Redeemed So was the $154.40 that you posted just you showing that you are a liar? I just remembered it as being more, and said "I think", when making the comment. It's not like I made a definitive comment like this one: Actually, the correct number was $154.40. Wow, that really makes me such a liar for saying that I thought it was more. To an insignificant little person like me, $192.57 might be a considerable amount. With what attorneys charge, I imagine that you may not agree. If you want to argue how much a considerable amount is, we can get into that. We could estimate sales from an Aquaponics facility and calculate what the tax revenue could have been over the years. The local salaries paid by a facility over the years could also be estimated as well as the revenue re-spent in the community. I am confident that we would be talking about a number that might seem more considerable to you. We could also talk about what kinds of revenues the back room businesses could be generating and speculate as to how considerable the loss of tax revenue is. It was about three years ago that I wanted to hear candidate's ideas to clean up our community, maybe if open dialogue was not restricted by our City leaders, there wouldn't have been an article about bar violence, I am confident that the numbers could have been better. Do you support Streator having better numbers over the next years when the bar violence numbers are looked at again? If you do, maybe you could ask our Mayor to start doing things differently?

Kyle, this whole issue arose some time ago when you were rambling on about people not paying their taxes. I then pointed out that Flips nearly got flipped because you were not paying your taxes. Next, you said that: "Yes, I did pay my taxes late and it did cost me a considerable amount more... ." When I mentioned that the "considerable amount more" was around $200, you said; "I think it was more." Other posters have noted that you often use the weasel-word expression "I think."
Now, you are attempting your usual obfuscation by trying to again attack the City. My central point remains: You are not credible.

Now, you are attempting your usual obfuscation by trying to again attack the City. My central point remains: You are not credible. At least I didn't state something wrong as fact like you did. You may call saying "I think " a weasel-word, but my statement was more truthful than yours. That makes you are even less credible than me. Therefor, I will disregard your statement that I am not credible as not being credible. With all the things that I talk about, I find it interesting that saying that I thought it was more is what you latch onto to try to prove I am not credible. "I think" that the Mayor saying that cleaning up our community should not be politicized is a weasel statement because "I think" it was to get out of having to admit that he just didn't have any ideas. "I think" that just ignoring my requests for his justification for the industrial zoning requirement that stopped a business is a weasel tactic to get out of admitting that it goes against our laws. Threatening legal action against a citizen that they are supposed to be representing, for exercising First Amendment rights to say what "I think", is a also a weasel tactic to not have to answer for what they do, "in my opinion". I will continue to use my weasel-words, and I am sure that our City leaders will continue their weasel tactics too.
