You missed the point, nobody is investing anything in this state, you keep blaming the town, your anger is misdirected! It wasn't the state that violated our First Amendment rights to try to keep people from hearing the ideas of other candidates on how to clean up our community. It wasn't the state that kept a business out of our community with a requirement that does not follow our laws. I think that my asking the citizens of Streator to heavily consider hiring new leaders to take us in a different direction is perfectly in order here.

"It wasn't the state that kept a business out of our community with a requirement that does not follow our laws." You are wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. You keep saying that but never do provide any business activity more closely related than greenhouses, that does require industrial zoning. An industrial business could be allowed downtown but not an Aquaponics facility, that is ridiculous. Our Mayor just must not want business here. What large development could he be planning, that has him keeping buildings empty by limiting uses without reason? Is he planning to start property banking, like the Downtown Plan is calling for to go into partnership with Mr. Hart to build a 40 unit housing complex? I don't know if that is the case or not, but we wouldn't all have to be wondering that right now if the Mayor would have just provided a justification for his requirement, would we? Maybe the Mayor should just find some stones and tell the truth? Who's running against him next year? I hope there is a good candidate.

Plus why would I discuss prices with someone who has already left Streator? So you will only sell to someone who currently resides in Streator? That's seems to narrow your pool of buyers a bit.

Your insistence that aquaponics is closest to greenhouses in the permissible uses and should therefore be allowed downtown shows what little understanding you have of the zoning ordinance. You've taken one sentence in the entire code and ignored the rest in order to justify your position. You stated that you didn't need to consult a zoning professional since you read the ordinance. I'm sure you read it but you obviously don't understand it. It's odd that you state that you talked with aquaponics professionals about the business but didn't talk to any other professionals about getting the business off the ground. In the end, you are wrong, wrong, wrong.

No, I wasn't talking about excluding anyone from other areas, it just doesn't seem productive to even discuss a price with someone who has talked about having already left because of the way Streator is. If you are really interested in coming back, I am sure you could come introduce yourself and make a good offer.

How about it though? Wouldn't it be fun for all you club members to come hang out and have your meetings here?
I could include the chickens in the deal and you could have a big BBQ at your subtle neutral earth tone painting party up on the roof top deck.
You could all laugh and joke about industrial zoning requirements.
When a street brawl breaks out, job could go jump in to show them that even leaving Streator to get a legal degree and life elsewhere, "can't take the Streator out of the boy".
You can see the shows in the park from the roof; it's a great place to watch the fireworks, with the carnival in the foreground.
That won't happen though, right oldtimer? Only people with no business sense invest in downtown property right?
The club leaders won't even invest in their own downtown building, the structure that holds up other buildings but is left wide open, with water running though it, creating blight, creating a safety hazard, bringing down property values, etc.
Yet they want to buy more. Isn't that ridiculous?

In the fullness of time, Kyle will probably again fail to pay his taxes. You might have a chance of buying the 2'd best flea market in town, probably really cheap.

You might have a chance of buying the 2'd best flea market in town, probably really cheap. Maybe, and maybe pigs will fly. You seemed disappointed that I redeemed those taxes. Did you really think I would let it go? Flips is the second best resale shop in the Times readership area. The first best is in Ottawa, so that would make it the best in Streator, as voted by the readers of the Times.

Weren't you the one that talked about a large group of neighbors fighting, the Police coming out and doing nothing? No, my neighbors don't fight. My neighborhood rocks. You are thinking of Jules. Have we just met Kyle? Haven't we had lengthy discussions on here in the past? Seriously. I'm honored that you lump me in with job and Oldtimer and that now I'm part of some "club", but disappointed that you don't have me pegged like you think you have job and Oldtimer pegged.
