Some people seem to think that images highlighting the heroin problem in our community will help solve the problem. Do you find that as degrading our community as well? I support their efforts. The newspaper printed an image of a burnt out apartment building where a child was murdered, as well as other works of an arsonist who has not been caught. By keeping the public informed that these crimes happen here, do you see them as degrading our community? Haven't I even seen you also share images of burning structures? Is it perfectly acceptable for others to share images of someone burning another's property, but degrading to share images of people hitting each other, even though the violence does happen so often here and many find it as very acceptable? Even our Mayor(or someone impersonating him?) posts on here that the violence is acceptable and about him fighting people. Its all about approach and presentation. The difference between you and the above examples illustrate my point. Cleaning up all these problems is a good idea, along with cleaning up the problems you address. I think most of us can agree with that. The problem you have been experiencing is that besides highlighting the problem, you are also CONTINUALLY and REPEATEDLY referencing PAST actions, as a way to move forward. Highlighting the problem is good. Dwelling on it to the point of obsession is not. Does the newspaper continually show a burned out building in Streator, day after day? Has 140 pages of the past, helped in any way to fix the problems you address? If you would look at what has been successful in dealing with problems, you will find that the past is used as a reference, but is not the driving force in fixing the problem.

Let's see...I imagine his response will go something like this: Are you saying that these issues that have occurred in the past don't matter? That you support violence and the over serving in bars that continually goes on? Are you saying that by NOT showing a burned out building in Streator that somehow that just makes the problem go away? Are you saying I should stop and just let the city leaders trample my constitutional rights? Are you telling me I should see what the city has been successful at changing and forget all of the slights against my family and all of the stuff they are unwilling to correct? That I should forget that they called us illegal and that they encourage illegal activity like urination in the streets? Are you saying that you support my rights and the rights of my family being trampled on? That you are willing to turn a blind eye to those PAST issues much like Willy turned a blind eye to what he perceived as me breaking a law when I really wasn't? There ya go Kyle! Take the day off! I think I covered the same old rhetoric. If not, everyone here can feel free to just throw a dart at any of the many posts on this thread that you have written and quote it. Same thing, different day.

You are so full of yourself. We get it Kyle. You have a raging hard on for anybody that doesn't see things your way or agree with you. It gets boring. Same crap just a different day. With your sorry attitude no wonder you've made no headway. And the sad thing is that you'll never change your sorry attitude. I used to laugh at your comments. Now I just feel sorry for the life you have. It must suck to get up every day and be bitter about everything. A raging hard on for anyone who doesn't see things my way? What makes you say that, because I stand behind what I believe in? I don't attack anyone just for having a different opinion than I do, but there are many here who do attack me. If it is so boring, why do you even bother reading the thread? Aren't there enough exciting threads to read? Do you really think your continuous yawn/snore comments are livening anything up, or are they just your way of baiting me over and over again? Really, why do you even bother reading or posting anything here? It's not like you ever have anything productive to say to counter any of the issues that I talk about, usually just some unrelated insults or attacks on me. That is just like some of our City leaders, they didn't have anything productive to say about curbing the excessive bar violence that has kept many people away from our downtown for many years to result in exciting threads now like “Really Missing the Majestic”, so they just insulted and attacked me too. Are you really pretending to know anything about the rest of my life from the few topics I discuss on here? Other than the several minutes posting here, do you really expect anyone to believe that you know what the rest of my days hold? You go ahead and think what you want, I'm sure I'll get a few chuckles over the next several days remembering that you think I have some miserable bitter life.

If you would look at what has been successful in dealing with problems, you will find that the past is used as a reference, but is not the driving force in fixing the problem. I reference PAST actions to try to keep them from happening again, but they keep happening again with the problems not being addressed by our leaders with any solutions. Aren't we supposed to study history to keep from being doomed to repeat it? Even though I talked repeatedly about the City making business owners out to be criminals without providing them a chance to defend against the charges being a violation of our Constitutional Rights, a City leader still saw fit to do it yet again. Don't you think that maybe we could have more business owners here if our City leaders at least gave them a chance to defend themselves against the charges before publicly declaring them criminals? The reason for highlighting the problems is to try to get them corrected. After starting seven years ago to ask our City leaders to curb the excessive bar violence problems that kept many people away from family businesses, the violence still exists in excessive numbers as printed in the paper. For years I only highlighted the problems privately to our City leaders because they are the ones responsible for enforcing our laws to clean up these illegal activities, instead of letting people walk away from it. The lack of actions to produce better results and their vindictive attacks towards my family have made it turn much more public. I don't know how much the 140 pages has helped anything change or if it has made enough people start thinking that our community should start heading in a better direction, but there certainly seems to be more people talking about it, don't you think? The 140 pages has certainly helped clear many things up; I find much of what has been revealed to be very interesting. Well I certainly hope that the past will not be a driving force for the future. As a matter of fact, I really do hope that they do start doing things differently very soon.

Same thing, different day. Gee thanks, that was pretty good. However, don't you think that referring to our leaders violating their oath of office and not upholding the Constitution as just being "slights" degrades the fundamentals of our society that people have given their lives to provide us? I know, it is the same thing over and over again, isn't it? Some of our City leaders keep violating people's rights and seem to see nothing wrong with it. Excessive violence numbers keep occurring in our streets, many with no consequences. People keep robbing banks and getting away with it here too. Same thing different day. When do you think our City leaders will finally start doing things differently?

After thinking about it maybe we do need new leaders. A few years back when the tornado destroyed people's houses the city leaders didn't do anything to stop the tornado from cutting through town. Since they didn't do anything to stop the tornado, they are obviously okay with tornados destroying people's homes. In my opinion this attitude of allowing tornado destruction is yet another example of how our leaders attitudes are hurting our community. I also was talking to some people out of town and they said that they refused to patronize the Majestic because they were afraid of being caught in a tornado while watching a movie.

Cry me a river Kyle. I pity your pathetic so called life. I'm not crying, just talking about what happens in Streator and expressing my opinions about it. It seems to me that it is others who get very upset about it. If you keep telling yourself that I have some pathetic life, do you think it will make the conditions in Streator seem any better? I think that you know that Streator keeps heading in a negative direction and that our City leaders should start taking action to clean up the problems so that we can start attracting a different type of people to create better growth. That's just my honest, insignificant, pathetic opinion though.

That does not sound like a bad idea. I think that many people should contact the FBI and ask them to look into the lack of enforcement from our City leaders that creates so many problems here and holds our community back. FBI - Chicago Division - Southern Territory 15321 South 94th Avenue, Second Floor Orland Park, Illinois 60462 Phone: (708) 349-0004 Counties: Cook (southern), Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle, and WillHow about that recent bank robber? Didn't I read that he went to City Park and then south? I wonder if he waved for the red & blue flashing camera. Do you think that he just vanished after that? If he went down Monroe St., do you think he could have just hopped over the fence at 220 E. Main and then just hid out in the City's wide open dilapidated building until the police were gone from the area? Does anyone really know who goes in and out of that property? I bet that if I owned that property they would be all over me for keeping such a deplorable unsafe place, don't you think? How about the gambling? Now that we have the legalized gambling, there isn't any pull tabs, Super Bowl, NCAA, or other illegal gambling going on in any bars here, is there? Wouldn't that just be competing with those who are trying to conduct business properly and paying the taxes on their revenue? Since other businesses obviously lose out to that competition (in multiple ways) and our City leaders just had to raise our taxes again to try to be able to provide the limited services to citizens that they do, would it be fair to let a handful of people avoid paying their share on the sizable amount of revenue? The violence here continues to go on with very few consequences even if there are witnesses, even if it is an officer. What about the shoot out participants who are at large? Our Mayor indicated that they weren't releasing information on them to keep them from leaving the area. The newspaper indicated that there could be charges against the person who was shot. Have you heard of any charges on him, or is he an innocent tourist who our City leaders are also protecting the identity of? The shhot out participants have had plenty of time in our community now to have leased a home from one of the "good" people of Streator, haven't they? They could be moving their furniture, products, and weapons into anyone's neighborhood right now, couldn't they? Do you think that City leaders really know that these armed criminals comfortable having shoot outs in Streator are not now residents of our community? Don't you think that we should ask our City leaders for better enforcement of our laws and to not promote violence as being acceptable here so that these type of people aren't so comfortable coming here to commit their crimes? Yes, I hope that people do contact the FBI and ask them to try to get things done differently here.

Was it Sesame Street that had the short bit with the song about one of these things being different, not being the same as the others? Should we play? Which one of these things can our City leaders do absolutely nothing to stop? A. Publicly declaring business owners criminals when they are not and without providing them a chance to present a defense at all. B. Stopping a business with a requirement that does not follow our laws and then refusing to provide any justification for it. C. Allowing people to walk away from committing violence in our streets without any consequences even after being witnessed by an officer. D. A Tornado. Let me know if you need a clue.

You don't think that bank robberies are all the FBI is responsible for investigating, do you? Aren't they also responsible for investigating things like government corruption and organized crime as well? Wouldn't there be much, much more of a chance that he would be in the City's building since mine is not wide open with multiple points of easy access? The City's building that they wouldn't even need to break into is public property, isn't it? Our City couldn't even charge someone for trespassing in there could they?
