I have a lot to say and have said things. I just don't need 127 pages to say the same thing over and over and over again like you do. You need some mental health advice.

Kyle, What's playing at the E-town, Kentucky "Bijou" tonight? Isn't it time to start that popcorn machine so you can watch the smiling faces on all those children? I just bet your making all kinds of new friends. g Why, do you think you really want to have the conversation be about all the family entertainment Streator is missing out on since our City leaders let the bar violence win out over the movie palace? Yes, there have been a lot of smiling children between the Penguins movie and Disney's Big Hero 6, but Mocking Jay has been the show selling out the auditorium. There is also the two comedy sequels of Dumb & Dumber and Horrible Bosses. If you are downtown tonight for the parade, do you think you will be able to find some popcorn that hasn't been dumped over someone's head trying to save the boarded up movie palace, or will you be in the bar celebrating their victory over family entertainment?

[te]Kyle, I don't believe any City of Streator official needs to answer any of your questions on this thread. You are, by your own admission "one small insignificant individual". Get over yourself. g Did I say that they did need to answer questions here? Wasn't she the one who came on here offering to answer questions to try to make herself look good as a politician who is forth coming to the public at election time? Wouldn't you think if she were sincere that, even though she didn't "need" to, she would just answer the questions? After all, she does already use this site as her personal political page, don't you agree? I'll let you know if she answers the emailed questions, so that we can all discuss them here, where she defends what our City does and her husband and other City leaders attack me for asking that the problems be solved. I don't think that it should be so hard to get answers to why the problems are not corrected that keep people and their money away from our downtown, resulting in a failed, boarded up movie palace. It seems that there are some people who really want to keep our community known as the "mean pee stained streets of Streator", regardless of how much business it drives away. Yes, I am a small insignificant individual; I am over myself. It seems that you are the one having a hard time getting over me.

Hope to see you at the park tonight Kyle . Come out and show your support for the town you call home. Sorry dog, Thanksgiving weekend is a time that theatres make a lot of money(if they aren't boarded up), I had to work. I should be in town this next week though. I'll be sure to show my support as I always do. I'm confident that you do know that I do strongly support Streator's opportunity to be more than the many empty store fronts and boarded up movie palace, once our City leaders start doing things differently. There are many good, caring people that do deserve better in my opinion.

Are you really going to acknowledge that you have seen my questions and avoid answering them because they were not posted in the specific place that you wanted them? That seems to me more like a leader who wants to dictate to the serfs of the community, not someone who is openly ready to serve the citizens of the community. I tried to go ahead and play your game by sending this post to you in a pm but since you seem to have blocked me, I will try sending an email and will be awaiting your answers. You came to my defense on the chicken issue, really??? What do you call that statement, if not you using this site for your personal politics? An opportunity during election season for you to show people here that you were in support of more rights for citizens, and you snatch it up, but can't answer questions here because this isn't your personal political site? That double standard seems to me to be right in line with attitude of the "majority" established City leadership I've seen. Other than campaigning, why else would you bring up coming to my defense on the chicken issue? Was it another attack on my character? Are you trying to imply that if I hadn't of had you in my corner I would be sitting in a prison cell right now? Isn't it a fact that I had indeed followed our laws and was perfectly legal owning as many farm animals (other than swine) as I wanted to, was not hurting anyone by having a few laying hens that people don't even know if I have any more or not, and didn't ned you to "defend" me at all? Yes, I remember that you seemed to be for citizens in residential areas being able to have the right to have a few laying hens too. The only ones who really seemed to have a problem with the hens were some bar people. The City seemed eager to take some action on the issue. What ever happened with that? Did I miss the introduction of your ordinance to have the harmless birds with many benefits be accepted here or did you think the resistance form the bar supporters within our City administration was just to strong to allow people here to have those rights? Kyle, I don't believe any City of Streator official needs to answer any of your questions on this thread. You are, by your own admission "one small insignificant individual". Get over yourself. g I did get a response from Councilwoman Sassypants, but as suspected from my previous conversations with her, didn't really get much of any answers to the questions I had asked. Her response to many of the questions was that she was not on the Council at the time. She knows that I attended many meetings for years and am aware of who was on the Council when the issues came up. I didn't ask if she was on the Council when actions were taken, I asked her opinion of their actions, so that we could have an idea of how she might act if similar issues were to come up again. She came onto this thread to say that I hadn't contacted her recently to ask questions and acted as if she was willing to be open and answer them, but then seemed to only talk about what she wanted to and dodge the questions. I believe that her claim of openness was only her using this site to campaign for the up coming election. She claims that her husband's "mean pee stained streets of Streator" comment was not to me. Really??? Did I ask if it was a comment to me? Of course it wasn't to me, it was about me. It was about ridiculing me for asking that we not have the excessive numbers of these negative incidents as documented in the newspaper, that I am confident do hurt business. If it wasn't about me, why would he have posted it on this thread(titled Kyle's Blog)? His comment is on the top of page 59, it seems the only one talking about these issues on page 58 is me. Obviously his post was an attack against me, there is no doubt in my mind. Her response to the question asking if she thought the incidents that her husband promotes attracted or deterred people from supporting the movie palace before it was boarded up, was that she went to four movies and didn't see any street brawls. Is that even close to what I had asked her??? Does she think that as long as she doesn't see the incidents, that other people don't hear about them when they do happen, since they do happen too often? Why not just answer the question asked? If she admits that these things that are against our laws do keep some people away, would she feel that she is not properly serving her constituents by not addressing the problem? By just not admitting that there is a problem, does she think she can just avoid having to even bother thinking about solving it? It seems that is what our Mayor and other City leaders feel too. Is that her way of being open to the public, by not answering the questions asked, but offer up some other information instead? I don't believe that she mentioned one thing in her entire response about cleaning up the bar violence problems that were detailed in the newspaper. How can that indicate anything to me other than that she plans to just allow these problems to continue, like the rest of the "majority"? Yes colplumb, it is even more obvious to me from talking to her again that she is part of the "majority" and ready to keep Streator heading in the same direction it has been. I'm glad you decided to bring her into this. I think some of her responses to the other questions will make for some more interesting posts when I have some more time.

By just not admitting that there is a problem, does she think she can just avoid having to even bother thinking about solving it? I am going to break this up a little, for 2 reasons. One, it might keep the focus on specific topics, and two, I am not smart enough to put statements within different parts of quotes. As for this particular topic, Yes, Hawk's comment was probably directed at you, but since he didnt specifically quote you or use your name in the post, it IS possible it was a more general statement. The question you ask is a trick question. You are good at framing things to use at a later date. All I see is that she was trying to put it into perspective. There is no doubt that any type of negative would keep people from going to the movie theater. Understandably she is trying to put it into proper perspective, like I would. In my 50 years I would bet I have been to at least a couple hundred movies at either the Majestic or the old Plumb and have never witnessed any fights, public intoxication or urination. I think it is a problem , but when you look at all the problems we could have in this town, they do a good job of controlling more major problems. It is your opinion that these problems are excessive and happen too often, but you only reference one family seeing a man peeing in the middle of the street. Nobody else that night complained to you, or it never happened again? That seems just like an isolated incident to me, rather than a common occurance. Just like when you talk about car jackings. You give the impression that it common place here, when in fact, it might have been 2 incidents in 20 years? I dont know how she "feels" but If she could admit that these things are against our laws and it does keep some customers away, I would still feel she is properly serving the public and giving giving the problem the proper level of attention. You have said that you have dealt with numerous mayors, council persons, managers, police chiefs, etc here with little results or change in direction. Why dont you come out and say the problem is with the voting majorities of the citizens of Streator, who are ultimately responsible for electing these officials? Lets face it, our leaders are a reflection of the majority of people who choose to become involved in the process and even after all your efforts, no one was concerned enough to even try running against our current mayor.

Personally, I think she is in a no win situation with you, since you ask questions that no matter how she answers, you are going to use it to your advantage to discredit her.

The more our downtown is used for these family friendly events, the better. I have always supported these type of things any way I could, and remember mentioning the fun we had participating in Flagstaff's lighted parade at an SDAB meeting way back when I was at the Majestic. Were there any 50' dragons this year? I'm sorry we missed it, we did have a good idea for something different. Yes, I am doing a lot of installs, however my title is Director of Theatre Operations, which basically means that I am involved in just about every aspect of the company's theatre operations, and even some of their other businesses. I've earned a lot of time off that I was already expecting to have taken, but there has just been so much to going on. You might see me more in Streator in the future.

Nobody else that night complained to you, or it never happened again? That seems just like an isolated incident to me, rather than a common occurance. Because you haven't witnessed these things, do you really think that just makes them not a problem? Do you not think that people talk about seeing the two guys fighting in front of the officers and then walking away, or one of the many incidents that do happen here too often? Whose perspective is she putting it in? Did you and her miss the article in the newspaper this year highlighting the excessive number of incidents that have happened here? The article was titled "Streator looks to curb bar violence". Isn't it obvious that the newspaper took a different perspective than you and her? Doesn't it seem that they were given the impression that our City leaders were not only recognizing that it is a problem, but "looking to curb" it, despite our Mayor not providing any solutions? Why won't Council Candidate Sassypants talk about her solutions to the newspaper recognized bar violence problems? Do I only reference one isolated incident of public urination? Maybe you should look back through some of my posts, before you say that. Remember the night of the mugging(when the police were too busy tending to the street brawl in front of the bar to take my eyewitness statement), how many people did I see urinating that night? I remember saving the video that night of three people urinating on my vehicles at once, and others on my building. Another interesting video I've talked about on here is the couple's urinating session. She is squatting next to the car by him as he waters down Ace's bagged gardening products. There are many others in my video library too. Would you like me to post some more videos to make sure that you know that they are not isolated incidents? One reason that I talk about the one incident so much is because the person who lives in another community was obviously so overly-intoxicated and so blatantly pulling his pants way down in the middle of the street and waving his body and penis back and forth with such disrespect for our community, that I was thoroughly disgusted. Another reason that I talk about the one incident, is because it is a rare time when I was able to have a representative of our City on the scene while the perpetrator was still there. I went out on the street that night to talk to the officer, identify the person and let our City know that I would gladly testify in court if needed, that this person did violate our laws. The officer made me wait on the sidewalk for a long time while he talked with the bar customers before he would even talk to me, the person calling in the complaint. I practically begged him to take action, but could get nothing done. As a business owner, I knew that I was putting myself and my business on the line for standing up to what I think is wrong. I doubted that the group of bar customers and employees watching me plead with our officer to do something, were going to support my business after that. Once you feel you have to start losing customers trying to stand up for what you think is right, where do you stop? I talk about that incident often because having contacted the owner of the company truck, I was able to get a name, contact information, and confession and went to City Hall the Monday after the incident, met with the Mayor and Police Chief and still was not able to get any action taken. I talk about that incident often because that was the incident that really highlighted to me how bad the problem is, that our City was not going to do anything, and because there are generally no consequences for bar customers, why they continue to go on so often, hurting other businesses. The offender was very apologetic about the incident, saying that he does not do those things in public, but had just way too much to drink. I think maybe our bar owners should be more responsible community members, follow our laws, and not serve people who are already intoxicated. Since they won't do it on their own, I think we need to be able to look to our City leaders who control their license to serve alcohol for their solutions. Because they will not talk about solutions, other than saying that we can't afford to have more officers on the street, I will just keep talking about the results of their lack of action. Just because there wasn't Mayoral challengers, I don't think that means voters are happy with Streator continuing in its current direction and being known for the excessive bar violence. I don't see it as the voter's fault for hiring people not knowing that they do the type of things they do. Part of the problem is that our City tries to hide so many of the incidents. The older crowd(a good majority of the voters) who are likely in bed when these things go on, and only goto the newspaper and radio for their local news, probably wouldn't know that people are allowed to just walk away after fighting in front of a police officer, or when a owner is pleading for action against someone doing something disgusting and illegal in our streets near his business. Since our Mayor tries to suppress conversation about the problems, and our City doesn't release information to the press about many crimes that do happen, I believe there are many voters who do not know how bad things are. Have I talked about car jackings, or just about a car jacking attempt that was talked about here but never reported in the newspaper? When the Mayor blames business owners in the newspaper for the perception that our City is uninviting to business, do voters know that business was stopped with a requirement that is not within our laws and that our Mayor will not respond to a request for his justification, or that sidewalk sales were illegal, or about the other overly-restrictive ordinances? Don't you think that maybe if more voters knew about what our City leaders do, that they might decide that new leaders could provide a different direction? I'll keep trying to inform voters that these things do go on. Maybe I can get enough voters to realize what the real problems are, or get our current leaders to start doing things differently.

So you plan to vote for candidates who will allow the excessive bar violence numbers printed in the newspaper to continue, who vows to keep raising our taxes, and who wants our population and property values to continue declining, etc.? You know that I am going to use her answers against her? Is that from your extensive business education that you know what other people will do in any given situation? I'll admit that I do plan to continue to hold people responsible for what they say, if that is using it against them, then they must not be saying something they are proud of, don't you think? Do you really think that if she came out and said that some of the things that our City has done could have been wrong and that she would not do things that way, that I would use it against her? If she had said that she felt it was wrong to deny use of City Park based on the subject to be discussed and that she would uphold the Constitution as she takes an oath to do, do you really think that I would use that against her? Wow you really do try to paint me as some terrible person for wanting my rights honored and problems addressed, don't you?

Any one entering into any kind of dialogue with you is entering a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. If you feel your Constitutional Rights have been trampled on, file suit.
