Do you think that maybe he will start to correct the problems, follow our laws, and honor people's rights this term? I dont know. Can you be counted on to try to work WITH him instead spending the next 4 years asking the people of Streator to replace him in 2019?

Keep up your rants. They are incredible! Canale building sold by the way so maybe you should shut up since you never seem to know what is going on around here and add it to a long list of buildings that have sold downtown in the past 1.5 years! Merry Thanksgiving!!! Is the Canale Building sold? Isn't that one of Katie's listings? Her website still has it listed with the 17% reduced asking price indicating the owners must be pretty motivated to sell. However, I noticed that Coldwell has it as sale pending. I wonder what price it ends up selling for. That is great if it did sell, but how does not knowing about a very recent sale indicate that I never know what goes on or requires me to shut up?

He doesn't need me though, he can start doing things differently any time he wants. I'm not stopping him from correcting the problems, but I'm also not going to start pretending that they aren't problems.

Kyle your new name is Encino Man. It's like you froze some time in 2011 and woke up just to repeat the same crap over and over. You have to ask why somebody thinks things have changed? Gee I don't know maybe THREE new council members which is the MAJORITY of the council. Who cares what happened three years ago?
A moron is an antiquatwd medical term for the highest level of retardation. Pardon my anachronism. If you can't do simple math I think moron is the right term. Go talk to all the "CHANGE" you clamor for, which HAS already happened, and if you come back with the same story then maybe you have a point.
But let me guess, you won't.

Go talk to all the "CHANGE" you clamor for, which HAS already happened, and if you come back with the same story then maybe you have a point. But let me guess, you won't. Did you get that dog? I am supposedly a moron, having the highest level of retardation, because colplumb thinks I can't figure out the simple math of three new Council members being a majority. Do you think he has made some kind of professional diagnosis, or could it just be a false claim like the ones our City leaders have made against me in the past? When you were trying to say that Streator with a 7% population loss wasn't losing population as fast as the County with a 4.5% loss, was I supposed to call you similar names to have my "tactics" be up to par with others here? I find it interesting that some people see my tactics of standing behind what I say and holding others responsible for what they say as such a terrible thing, but don't have a problem with the false claims and name calling. I think what colplumb doesn't realize is that I have talked to the new council members and paid attention to what has happened. Although there is a majority of new faces, I don't see a majority change in attitude or much results. The leader of the community hasn't changed and that is a majority factor in my opinion. Not only does he have a vote like the others but is the face of our City and contact person for perspective businesses; he also appoints many commission and board members and controls much of what does or doesn't get done. For example, I was at a Council Meeting years ago where a new member wanted the outdoor sales issue addressed. When the Mayor said that the issue should wait until after the Downtown Plan, there was no vote, so a majority didn't even matter at all. Their excessive restrictions were so ridiculous that even some of my detractors on here couldn't believe that businesses were required to obtain a Special Use Permit to participate in sidewalk sales. However our Mayor made businesses have to subject themselves to the City's overly restrictive ordinances and selective head turning policies to participate in sidewalk sales two more years after the new council member suggested it. Quite frankly, I am surprised that he even let it be presented now. Perhaps talking about the problems a lot does help some? One of the "new" Council Members is sassypants/gmgirl on here. I have talked with her many times and feel that she is in strong support of the more established leadership of our City. She votes in close alignment to them and has defended them and what the City does on here many times, but won't answer questions about the issues because she doesn't want to use this as her personal political page. Here is one of her husband/campaign manager's posts on this thread: www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152671590997932Oh wow look at what happened in Strea…..wait! This isn't Streator at all, it's Naperville! Oh My! I thought this only happen in the mean pee stained streets of Streator. Surely this can not happen in Naperville with their high end businesses and beautifully landscape parks and berms. The quality of life is so rich…nooooo! Sorry to those who don't have Facebook. here's the transcript - some kids in the street, expletives exchanged, street brawl ensues, more expletives and taunts, police arrive After posting this, he wouldn't answer any questions either, but obviously he is trying to make these things seem acceptable, if not trying to say that we need more drunken street brawls here so that we can have more business like Naperville. Considering her husband's views and the fact that she has not come out to publicly acknowledge the problems, much less offer any solutions, does anyone really think that I can count on her as part of any majority to create the change to start doing things differently and try to cut down on the number of these negative incidents that hurt business and result in a boarded up movie palace? The majority that I see, is one that will likely keep our community going in the same direction it has been, unless they start doing things differently. I will keep asking for change until I see results I am happy with.

Kyle don't stay away too long, the city may end up declaring your building vacant Then find a way to legally condemn the building so they can demolish it.

Just go away Mr. Irrelevant. Irrelevant? Why do you feel that what I have to say is irrelevant? Is it because you feel that they will just continue not addressing the problems and being vindictive towards people who ask for better for our community?

Kyle don't stay away too long, the city may end up declaring your building vacant Then find a way to legally condemn the building so they can demolish it. I was just recently in Illinois. How long do you think I would have to stay away for them to declare it vacant? The vacant building ordinance isn't really clear as to what the requirements are to keep from having it be declared vacant If anyone else worked out of town and was away more than they are here, or if anyone just wanted to have a house be their second home that they only visited occasionally, would our City declare them vacant too and condemn them, or would this be just because our City leaders didn't like that I used my free speech rights to ask that our laws be enforced to cut down on the number of negative incidents that happen on our streets keeping many people and their money away from our downtown, just trying to help us have more things like a movie palace that isn't boarded up? Perhaps you are right and that is what will happen. Our City does seem to be ready and willing to spend tax payer dollars to demolish buildings. The numbers seem to keep rising. Didn't they just raise our taxes another 3.3% too? There also seems to be some people in our City's leadership who are very interested in keeping our streets known as "the mean pee stained streets of Streator"

That goes for you or anyone else who reads this post. Well hello Councilwoman Sassypants, I am happy to see that you are still paying attention to what is said here. I didn't bother contacting you because I feel that I already have a good idea about what "majority" you are a part of, but would certainly keep an open mind, based on what you do and say in the future. From our previous conversations, it seems to me that you are part of the group who thinks that just ignoring the negatives and only trying to point out positives is all that should be done. I could be wrong though. Not really getting many answers in the past, I didn't really expect much results possible in talking with you again. I am glad that you now seem to be so willing to answer questions. I don't remember the particular questions pending at the time that you said that you weren't going to use this as your personal political page (despite using it to defend our City leaders often), but I have plenty more: Are you proud of your husband's attempt to ridicule me for asking for better for our community? Do you share his apparent feelings that these things are acceptable here since they may also happen in Naperville? Do you think that these incidents being allowed to continue outside the Majestic for so many years helped attract or deter customers from patronizing the movie palace before the owner considered it a failure and boarded it up? Do you feel that my family residing in CBD was illegal when declared so by the City? Why do you suppose the City would not respond to my family's Accessory Use defense and either state that we were indeed illegal residents or clear us of their public charges and character assault that damaged my son's business? Do you feel it was appropriate for our City to make such a public declaration without first reading their ordinance or providing people their Constitutional Right of Due Process? Do you feel that our Mayor denying use of City Park based on the subject to be discussed, particularly at election time, is properly following the oath he took to uphold the Constitution? Do you feel that there is proper justification in our ordinances for the Mayor's industrial zoning requirement for Aquaponics? If so, what is it? Do you think it is appropriate for our Mayor to just ignore requests for his justification for the requirement that stopped a business? Do you feel that it was appropriate for our City to threaten a fine against my son for displaying bicycles outside while allowing others to continue displaying their merchandise outside for years without a Special Use Permit, while also ignoring requests for years that the ridiculous ordinance be changed? If I show you a lease and gas company receipts for a house in Streator where my family lived and an opening gas bill not until the fall of 2007 for the Majestic, do you think you could get me a new trial so that no one else at the City feels that I owe them anything for turning their heads to a crime that my family wasn't committing? Do you feel it is appropriate for our City to make judgments such as that without providing business owners a chance to present their side? Do you feel it is appropriate for a City official to use information such as that to attack the character of citizens when they don't like what they have to say? Do you support our City's head turning policies, or do you think there should just be one set of fair laws for everyone to follow equally? Other than asking for solutions to the problems that I saw first hand hurting business and talking about what does and doesn't happen here, do you feel that I did anything to deserve to be treated the way that I have by our City? Can you understand how, after everything that has happened and the condition of our downtown, I could see a dire need for things to start being done differently? I know that is a lot of questions. I do have even more, but if I do get answers to these, I'm sure I'll have many follow up questions as well. Thank you in advance for being so forth coming.

My last two comments stated feel free to contact me on my Facebook page, by phone, by email, in person or by pm. This is none of the above.
Please feel free to contact me by any of the above. I will not argue with you on here. I am willing to answer questions, but not on here, as it is not my personal political page.
