You're always right Kyle. Every time. I thank God for your wisdom. I can't wait to see your name on a ballot in the next election. Then we will see how many people believe in your vision. My guess is not too many.

admit you were butt hurt that the city (may or may not) have said no, so now you are trying to convince us that this would have saved us from becoming the next ghost town. I was butt hurt that our City would give out a requirement that I honestly believe goes against our laws and refuse to provide any justification for it. If our City is going to keep a business out they really should be able to provide a reason for it shouldn't they? I am not saying it would save anything. It could have provided a use for just one of our empty buildings, a couple of jobs, tax revenue, etc. I think that every little bit helps and if even a few tourists a year stopped in it would be good. Have you heard of people coming to the area to tour the windmill farms? Those people with green interests could be targeted to make it a more complete day with a package deal. I think it could have drawn a few people here, but some people say I have no business sense, so maybe not. We sure don't need anyone trying anything new here do we? Seeing as how doing things the same way as always has been producing such great results.

BTW, the City decided to give the people of Streator a chance to see the plans before moving forward. They are available at City Hall and they say should be on the City's site tomorrow. So, that is good.

You know something Kyle? If I really and truly felt my Constitutional rights had or have been violated I wouldn't be wasting my time on the "SO Cesspool" as it's been referred to. I'd be calling Amy Madigan, the US Justice Department, and even the ACLU to get these violations recognized and have the heavy hand of the law come down on those that have violated my rights. You so far haven't done so to anyone 's knowledge. Instead of accusing the mayor or anyone else of violating your rights, why don't you go to the proper authorities and get this out in the open and if , in fact, your rights have been violated, have them taken to task for this?

The heavy hand of the law? What would the do, send them to prison, give them a fine that taxpayers would have to pay, make them resign? Yeah right. Just because I haven't gone to those organizations doesn't mean that I can't take them to task for it. Just about every meeting that I go to, they invoke the public forum ordinance to cut me off at three minutes. That same ordinance also allows them to stop me if I say anything that is not true. At last month's Council meeting, I talked about my Constitutional rights being violated and doing so being corruption. I talked about their industrial zoning requirement not being supported by our laws and being corruption as well. They didn't cut me off until time was up. Obviously they don't disagree with me. Yes, we will see what the election brings. It will be interesting if nothing else.

You accuse people of violating your rights and choose not to pursue them legally? You're so fake it's funny. You're a narcissist pure and simple.

You accuse people of violating your rights and choose not to pursue them legally? You're so fake it's funny. You're a narcissist pure and simple. Maybe you are right. Maybe I should have filed a law suit against our City or asked one of those authorities to financially punish the City of Streator for violating our rights. If the taxpayers had to pay a for what they do(not that they aren't already), maybe then they would vote in some new leaders? If you don't really have any good points to make, you could always just start calling me names.

You always have an excuse Kyle. Always. Give it up and let that little gerbil in your head get a rest. Paranoia isn't good.

I agree. Maybe you should stop being so worried that a couple of the changes that I am asking for are going to destroy your ability to keep everything going in the same direction it has been for years. BTW, are you playing the game or not?

So, that is good. During their discussion of whether to extend the public hearing, one of them noted that is was in the Times legal notices that hard copies could be picked up at City Hall and many people don't have the internet anyway. Really??? Maybe when that internet thing catches on here, our City might start heading in a more progressive direction?

The internet is 25 years old today, maybe on its 50th Birthday? Maybe we should take up some donations to buy some of these computers for City Hall.

Now, go back to the same silly thoughts you have been talking about over and over and over again for the past year. Do you really think that our Constitutional rights being trampled is silly? What do you think, was the Mayor scared that he wouldn't be able to win the election if he let voters hear ideas from others, or does he think that our Constitution is just silly? By not answering my questions, aren't you basically just admitting that calling my comments silly is just more cesspool fill?

I don't agree with your assumption about them "admitting" they are violated your rights, by not cutting you off until the time was up. But lets say your assumption is correct, now what? You are excercising your right of speech as allowed by law by getting your 3 minutes. Are you going to continue on harping over the past on this subject or are you ready to forgive and move forward? On a side note FYI: Just because you say something and you don't get a response from one of us posters, does NOT mean that we agree with you. In my case, the argument has reached an impasse and it isn't worth the time to continue the debate with you.

Would they really let me say that they denied use of City Park based on the subject matter and call it corruption if it isn't what happened? Would they let me say that the industrial zoning requirement goes against our laws and is corruption if there were something in our laws that justifies it? They have no problem calling "time" to shut me up using one clause of the Kyle Mitchell ordinance, why not use the other clause of the same ordinance? I know it is not an admission of anything, and also know that they never apologized, they didn't even recognized that it is a problem, or start doing anything differently, but you want me to consider forgiving and move on? After all the times I have talked to them about allowing freedom of speech, just last month they didn't give me a chance to comment on what I would like to be considered before voting on making licenses available for three new bars, what will it be next time? I know you think that I should just move forward and let them keep doing whatever they want, but I don't like the direction they keep heading us and want better for Streator.
