To be more precise, the teacher's union dictates to the spineless boards of education . More raises and more benefits, that's not " stupid". LOL

I could do no worse than the lackies that hold a board member job, now. The no child left behind scores are shameful. I am glad the county citizens voted down the sales tax increase and stopped more wasteful spending!

Teachers run the board? That's a good one. The same teacher that is allowed to call the cops on her students quite often, because she's unable to handle her students. And nothing is bought up to her about. It does seem like the teachers are in more control than what the school board or the adminstrations are. But the impression that you typed/posted states different. I can tell you as a parent that there is alot of hush hush among the teachers. It seems like the teachers do have more say than they should.

Well then maybe the parents should notify the administration and the board. If nobody speaks up how can things change?
Slicker, you may not do worse, you may do better. There will be 4 seats up for election next year.

Things are bought up to the administration and to the board about different situations and it seems like things are swept under the rugs because nobody wants to take the parents seriously. There is a teacher at one of the schools that bully's the students(not mine though), and gets by with it. You as a parent can not call DCFS on the teacher because we are not licensed doctor or teacher of some sort. But this same teacher reported a parent because a parent stood up to her and she did not like it, and the parent reported to the school.(this has been in the past, not this year though). That situation was bought up to the administration. The administration just heed hawed around it.
So when it comes down to these days that are taken off, I do believe it is the teachers that are in control whether there is school or not.

There will be 4 seats up for election next year. That applies to City politics as well. If we don't challenge what the Good O' Boy Club does, how can we expect things to change? I notified them of some of the problems again this afternoon.
