My parents (dads co-workers & fams.) used to get together on Fri. to play cards, ladies yacked in the kitchen & kids played outside. Well ... one Friday they decided to order dinner togo & have turtle for ... wait for it... MY BIRTHDAY!!! Mind you, I was about 5 or 6 yrs. old! No friggin way!!!! I later tried to give it a try, my BF ordered it & I tasted his.... to see. AGAIN! He even said it was bad!! Nope! No more trying it!!! BTW, it was @ your fav. rest. in Utica. LOL!

I have to add this........... You might be a Streatorite if: you go to get your polar pop in your pajama bottoms and slippers at the gas station................ Ugh............. M

I don't know MM, good question........maybe they have places that specialize in "farm raised" turtle like they do so many other species of fish these days. So where does all the food come from at all of these wild game feeds that so many places have for fundraisers too then as well? Please don't tell me that it could just be a bunch of roadkill that their members and buds happened to have caught, found..and brought in for this fiasco, lol?? I don't think they'd be serving Asian carp to people, but who knows for sure. I know regular carp are alot of fun to catch. The big guy and his buddies used to catch carp all the time and take them to the Morris Hotel by the train depot. Miss Sarah there always loved it when they brought them in a bunch.......I don't think I'd be brave enough to ever want to try carp, they are scavengers...yuck! M

VFW has turtle on Fridays during the summer.
You might be a Streatorite if you remember Lou Elias and his ice cream truck. Ding, ding, ding. Hear that and hit up pops for money and run down the street.
