Well, I'm assuming that no one has a menu planned out yet.

Mamosas(sp) and the Thanksgiving Day parade. I have not watched it in years. When the turkey is done, we will eat.

We are not having thanksgiving again for the last 5 yrs since my mom died. Never cooked a thanks giving dinner before cause we always went to other relatives houses for dinner. Oh I missed those days of eating turkey, mashed potatoes ,sweet potatoes ,baked beans and the other stuff the family brought to my parents house.
Can kick myself in theassfor not learning how to cook a turkey and all the other stuff ,by watching how my mom did it.
No ones fault but my own.

My dear fellow, there are 'MOM's" a-plenty,on this site, and although none of us will have a method that tastes as good as your Mom's turkey did, I know you can have an easy "STREATOR-Land" tutorial offered any day, by a host of Mom's, if you'd just say the word. I'm not from Streator, but if you can't get any other recipes I'll offer up mine. The truth is you are very blessed, my son had to leave home to find good food. I'm a good recipe follower, but I'm not a cook. My Mother-in-law was, and my son is just like her, a great cook, and luckily for him he married a great natural cook. But, I still make my 'half-baked' recipes for me and Mr.R. and we are both too portly. Please make a small Thanksgiving Day meal, in honor of your Mom this year. I lost someone very dear to me 5 years ago, and I know how much we continue to miss them. But, make a celebration and celebrate the blessing of having had your Mom for as long as you did. :-)

Or,rocket, you could go volunteer at the city wide dinner. Not sure where it is, this year, but I am sure they could use the help, plus, you can have dinner.
That, or just go get a turkey, put it in the oven and bake. If not, I can cook it for you.

Community dinner at Central Church of Christ. Reservations must be made by Monday. Was in the Times.
My menu:
turkey (20 lbs), homemade stuffing, mashed pots, gravy, corn, corn casserole, corn bread, rolls, vegetable casserole, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cake. Plus we always have appetizers before hand., shrimp dip, tex mex dip, veggies and dip. I'm cooking for approx 20 people.
My mom passed away 3 years ago but taught me how to cook Thanksgiving dinner many years ago. I figured she had done it enough and it was time for me to take over. My meal tastes just like hers. Now I don't make everything on the list. Everyone brings one or two things.
Hint: I cook my turkey in a Reynolds cooking bag. It's great!
I can't wait for Thanksgiving day to get here already.
