With the way they are going, maybe parents should tell their kids not to go police for help. Can't trust them anymore.
They are no longer being trained for civil domestic situations at the civilian level. They are being trained for military style actions.

Under law, the Police aren't even supposed to get involved in "civil" disputes, but they often times do...
What the Police should have said is "This is a civil matter, take it up with the courts"...
"Domestic" matters often times become "criminal" matters and, only then, are the Police allowed to get involved...

Sorry but I would need a lot more information to believe this story. I'm not saying it isn't possible for it to happen but I'm very skeptical. Why would an officer, for no reason, do that to a "90lb disabled older woman" causing a "torn rotary cuff and upper back/spine injury"? Was she being uncooperative? Was she resisting so the officer takes her by the arm, she tries to jerk away, essentially causing harm to herself by resisting? I'm just trying to come up with some plausible explanation here that makes sense. Very valid points JULES....... as I also wondered the same. Just sayin........... there are so many sides to everything, their side, his side.....and the RIGHT side. M

Those who don't believe her, I'M sorry I'm not saying more I'm not tarnishing her case and I'm sure cameras caught him jerking her around and theres pics of her bruised wrist. If she did pull away it wouldn't be hard enuogh to hurt herself, I'm sure. she also has limited motion because of spine degenerating disease so the cop pulling on her or twisting her the wrong way will cause back injury, just putting her hands behind her back could of hurt her and she told him she had back problems. Guess if a cop dont like someone they'll bully 'em

Then ... there's the Warrant issues!
The biggest difference in the cases, she said, is the Border Patrol had no search warrant when it took her client to the hospital in El Paso.
A spokesman for the Border Patrol in El Paso did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the case or on its policies for conducting such searches.
In the Deming case, the lawsuit details a host of violations of Eckert's rights, including his being denied the right to make a phone call from the police station, and the fact that the search warrant that was filed to search his body was valid only in Luna County but he was taken to a different country after a doctor at the local hospital refused to do the searches, citing ethical violations.
