As I repeat, did not Barry Hussein Obama say that the economy is improving and jobs are on the increase? So much for believing a black , let alone, a dumacrat. Mitt was right, Barry wants to please the 53% , which are mainly deadbeats, with very few exceptions.

Take your political bull sh!t and go elsewhere with it. I am guessing this post wasn't started for you or anyone else to spout their political beliefs, but to inform those who may need a hand with the expenses of the holiday season.

Very nice too that they include the elderly. The holidays can be a rough time for the elderly.

Why do elderly need aid? Why does the country need SA and the begging that surrounds it? Hand outs are a political issue and are source of employment for the the people handling the donations. Who do you think gets a handling fee for the donations? Sounds like a good racket to be part of.

Cityslickster I'd rather see charities do this work than the government. That way I can contribute if I want to not because the government makes me.

cityslicker, you do know there is a politics board here don't you? Or at least start another thread about it as some of the city related ones on this one. Be a grinch if you want, don't support the Salvation Army if you don't want to but don't spit on someone else's kindness of informing others of the assistance that would appreciate it.

Most of the elderly have worked their whole lives and there comes a point where they can't anymore. THOSE are the ones I think deserve all the help they can get.

Maybe the elderly should have saved more money in the past. Those deadbeats in line at he SA seem to be able to afford cell phones and cigs. Park in the times lot and watch the riffraff on free coat day or any giveaway day.

The $3 billion that daddy O. Is spending on a war that is not having any effect , would go a long way to really help the needy.

Most people in America are just average American Joes, working every day just to make ends meet. Most people don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars saved for when they get old. They just try to survive day to day the best they can.
My mother-in-law worked her entire life. Menial jobs that didn't pay well but she worked her butt off. She was still working at the age of 76 when she got cancer and could no longer work. Do you know what public aid was going to give her to eat on? 10 stinking dollars a month. The one time in her life that she really needed and asked for help and that's what she was going to get. The Government has it all backwards. They need to make the young people work and help the ones who truly can't as in the elderly and the TRULY disabled.
