This MLB park was built to host the Chicago White Sox. "If you build it, they will come" Nope. The Sox built their own new park.

Yup! Tropicana Field (originally Florida Suncoast Dome and formerly Thunderdome) The stadium, built originally as the Florida Suncoast Dome, was first used in an attempt to entice the Chicago White Sox to relocate if a new ballpark were not built to replace the aging Comiskey Park. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropicana_Field

Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays played this position.

Maybe so, but this question is really unusual. I came across it in a book. When you play so well for so many games.......sometimes you end up in strange places. Not a pitcher.

The only other position that Mantle played that I can remember was a few games at 1st base.at the end of his career. Mays must have too. When his wheels were really shot he played some in LF.

This FORMER ball player was recently in the news at his ball park. He played in 297 games and never stole a base. He was caught stealing 3 times.

Just looked it up and they played SS in the big leagues, but I sure don't remember. Both were very talented.

MM That is why when I came across this fact, I had to post it. I think they both played Centerfield. Hint on next question------ "Mr. Baseball" He is in the HOF. He cliams that he had been paid big money as a player by Rawlings not to use their equipment. He was signed by the Braves and for $3000. He said it took his father a long time to come up with that kind of money. He asked the Louisville Slugger people to send him a custom bat. A dozen bats came. All had two handles. So he sent them back and said he wanted their special "flame treated" bats. They sent him a box of ashes.
