After - I was thinking Roberto Clemente....no clue before but I like Willy's response. Clemente was my favorite player of all time even though I was not a pirates fan. Why I worn #21 in college. Roberto Clemente is correct. He died on a goodwill mission to help the people of Nicaragua deal witha horrible earthquake. His palne was lost at sea and never found. Great contact hitter and he had a rocket for an arm playing right field. Something we don't see much any more (Nellie Cruz!) The special election was for Lou Gehrig when he was sick with ALS. It was unusual, but legal at the time.

I know this one! NBC had to divest either it's RED or Blue networks. Blue network became ABC.

Little Streator History. Whose house was torn down when St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church was built?

Yup. And to think I was at Greeley School down the street and to dumb to remember it. Too young for history I guess.

I am pretty sure CCC was at Bronson and Wasson. It is now the AME church. I don't know where St Paul's was at.

So where was St. Paul's previously? I THINK Central Church of Christ was down next door to Casa. (old Pizza Hut on Bridge) At one time Bridge St was "church row". It had the church next to the Mex place, EUB, 1st Methodist and the Episcopal Church. There were more, but I would have to get out my Streator history books.

Where do the Angels play. I could never remember all the stadiums names like when we were kids. I didn't even know they were still using the colosseum. lol. I just remember when the dodgers and white sox played in 1959 they had a big stink about all the white shirts in the background. I think. Hell, I'm so confused right now I'm not even sure about where they played in '59.

Gotcha. When Koufax started throwing strikes and got the curve ball, it didn't make much difference when he pitched. He was that good. Just like Ryan, when he got the curve he was tough. Seems like all the great ones had some problems at first and when they got things figured out it was Katie bar the door. When Randy Johnson started pitching I got scared just watching him.

He is still in good shape. Last I knew, he still came to spring training /w the DODGERS. Who moved into Dodger Staduim in the late 50's. I'm pretty sure that is the answer to my question. I just looked it up. I was right. Dodger Staduim was built in 1962.
