This company duked it out in the courts against Howard Hughes TWA to see who would be the big dog to fly oversea routes. It is now the name of a classII railroad in New England owned by a sicon of big steel. What is this company's name? Bueller? Bueller ? Anyone know this?

Was just a guess Dave, so didn't take a stab at it earlier. I remember their iconic logo. Who painted their planes in wild colors back in the 60's/70's? Was it Braniff? I think you are right. They also had the flight attendants in outrageous uniforms too.

I am a highway. I was created in 1806 by an act of Congress to serve as the first Federally funded highway construction project. When completed it connected Cumberland, Maryland, with Vandalia, Illinois. Eventually I was extended from Atlantic City to San Francisco. I have been called a Route, a Road or a Highway. As a route, all my numbers ended on a zero.

I just looked up the Illinois map part of this road. I'll probably give it away, but I said Vandalia and it still runs through there.

I thought I saw the statue of Lincoln, writ and the Pig in Vandalia, but it was Taylorville. MM, your first guess was pretty much on the mark. " As the legend goes, Lincoln, when still a young attorney riding the Eighth Judicial Circuit, was trying to speak in the courthouse at Taylorville. But while he was trying to make his case, pigs could be heard squealing under the floorboards of the building, which was built about 18 inches above the ground.
Lincoln is said to have jocularly asked the judge for a "writ of quietus" to stop the noise."
