Those machines take in big bucks even when they were not hooked to the state, they take in much more than the business itself if they have at least 3 machines........ many people have that addiction to gamble.

Gambling devices should only be permitted in the hallways of schools. The State of Illinois' share should only be sent in after each distirct keeps what is needed to fund the "mandated programs" and pay into their own self managed fund to pay for current and past teacher's and employee's pensions and health care benefits promised. It may be a few years before the State of Illinois receives anything, but somehow things get lost in the mail, when the funds are sent to Springfield. g Golly, yes, because we CAN'T expect them to give up free medical or 78.6 percent of their highest 4 years salary for the rest of their lives, now could we? I mean it is a MORAL IMPERATIVE that we treat Teachers like royalty. I'm only being half facetious, trim those bennies back to more like what normal people get, and I'm on your side bud.

The state didn't have a real interest in stopping illegal gambling back then. Now they do you've seen the numbers I doubt if any of the bars sell tickets on the games now with the profits they can make legally..Seems like that would be a foolish thing to do anymore.

Where on the state site does it actually tell how much the tavern owner made? I believe you take the NTI and subtracted the NTI tax rate(30%) and that should give you the income the owner made. To use Bowl Mor as an example. Their machines netted about $2900 and they had to pay about $900 in taxes, which resulted in about $2000 collected for the owner that month.

I suppose it will slow down after the newness wears off though...

Lol. The city owns the old roller rink. Perfect place to put a bank of machines. Get the schools in the black, build that pool, bike trail, restore all of our parks, etc
