It seems sad that today of all days they chose to oil and gravel Marilla Park Road since the car show is this weekend. People look forward to this weekend and now I'm sure that most car owners will choose not to expose their cars to this. Whose idea was it to do this now?

The brilliance of the City leaders is exuded when things like this happen, way to go City leaders let's worry about chickens, ya know the real important stuff. Kinda makes one wonder what goes on @ City Hall. The Mayor, City Manager, and the Director of Public Works don't communicate...? Doesn't look like it, what a well oiled machine running the show........

Seems like someone did not get the memo, on the Car show being at Marilla. I kinda like the irony of it. No stuff in the City Park, yet, now there is no choice, d/t the same city that banned same.

Come back when you have the facts jack.

Why wasn't this conveyed to the City before they planned, scheduled, and promoted the Car Show at Marilla Park?...And why did they wait until the last minute to announce the changes?... People come from all over to these events, and will likely miss out over the confusion...

This was the county not the city. Everything that happens in the area is always the city's fault, get the facts straight. OH by the way it looks like the county had a well oiled machine and also one hell of a chipper.A.K.A gravel spreader.

The township did the oil and chipping. It shouldn't be the city's responsibility to contact other agencies about work they have planned. Especially since the show isn't put on by the city. So it seems like once the city found out they agreed to let it be in the park to protect all be cars. Sounds like they were being cooperative and friendly.

Isn't Ottawa having their fireworks again the same time cruise night is going on like they did last year?

I'm curious and maybe someone knows, who's road is Marilla Park Rd. by Kroger and Walmart, I am assuming both businesses are in the city, and once you cross the tracks going east are any of those houses in the city...? Marilla Park I'm sure is in the City limits, I hope I've conveyed my confusion.

Fishman, the homes east as you described aren't in the City, and all the City owns Marilla Park, it isn't in the City limits. Similar to Spring Lake.

Maybe the city could vote to sell Marilla Park, I do not know if it is possible. This would be a general fund booster and pave the way, for a lot of raises. I know the wise city council, voted to sell Spring Lake. That was definitely a brain fart, on their part. I am glad we have such concerned and special council members. They could put the golf course,a baseball field or two, and a couple of parks on the block. It sure would cut down on maintenance and add to the tax rolls. That would be a good talking point, for the new appointee.

Seems like the city did the right thing by allowing it to be switched to the park downtown....
