I see a line of storms south of us a long that cold front. it dropped from 91 to 87 in a few minutes. I had to grab my light jacket.

WHY don't the schools do like they did when "we", and I use that terminology loosely, lol....not send them back until AFTER Labor Day? This just makes no sense to me at all, because invariably we get that last blast of heat right before Labor Day. It never fails now that the kids are back in school.... that they have to let them out earlier daily because of the heat. Now, I myself do think that we are in for an early fall...I have noticed our sycamore tree already with brown turned leave bunches, as other trees too around town at their tops. Love the fall......but God I sure do DETEST winter!!! UGH................... M

I remember when I went to school there wasn't any heat days. at St Anthony's grade school we had two fans at the back of the classroom and the windows open. kids are soft now days super. I noticed yesterday that school was let out early because of the heat but the neighborhood kids were out playing in the heat at 2pm. I think its more the teachers are too warm to teach.

I worked in the construction industry when I was on the river. we had the choice to start early like 5am and quit before 3pm when the heat was bad.

Yeah, and at least they didn't have to wear those horrid HEAVY ugly blue jumpers that didn't breathe what so ever, and the boys don't have to wear LONG dress pants....least it wasn't as bad as what the nuns in full garb attire had to wear, oiy!!!! Plus we were forced to go outside for recesses no matter if it was 100 degrees out, or way below freezing. Those were the days, my friend. The other day I walked with lil peanut M to 314, man I have never heard her complain so much about being so hot, sweaty and thirsty....plus she started crying she was SOOOO miserable walking. She asked me to carry her, yeah RIGHT at 60 lbs, I don't think so! You're right kids are soft, no wonder we have that hard outer shell, lol. M
