Oakland Park should have stayed open and Sherman should have closed. Could you explain why you made this statement? Are there facts, supporting Sherman as the proper school to be closed, that were kept from us, when this decision was made? Do you know the population differences? Thanks for the help.

Well OPS has a cafeteria and gym. I have heard Sherman needs repairs. I a going by what I have heard from many teachers and parents. The board decided last year I believe. Sherman is too small, from what I am hearing. And, Sherman, just 'lost' a 5 y/o, by putting him on a bus, where he did not belong. He was not a bus rider. A lot to iron out for sure.

I believe the school has assigned everyone that qualifies for bus service, to a bus. Unless the parents contact the school to let them know that they have different transportation, they are put on the bus. most parents make sure the school knows what to do with their child. especially a 5 y/o.
I don't understand why kids that qualify for a bus route aren't expected to ride it. This would cut down on the chaos caused by unnecessary traffic in the area.

What happens if a child is riding down the sidewalk, and doesn't pay attention to the curve? Someone can get seriously injured with those wires. Especially now that kids are texting while walking, or even on bikes. I know the picture looks funny, (like the Stooges were to blame). But doesn't it seem unsafe to take this shortcut where kids are more likely to be?

That's a broken ankle just waiting to happen. I am off work now 4 weeks because i walked on a sidewalk with a friend in Ottawa and tripped on the edge of the sidewalk. Hopefully 2 more weeks and a full recovery but alot of these new sidewalks have the edge high. I knew i shouldn't have chewed gum....lol.. Broke small bone on side of foot.......blink on an eye your world changes. But it was kinda fun driving one of the motorized carts at Kroger's......lol
