Had Sauerkraut over the weekend. Very good and taste much better than store bought if I may say so myself.

Well, Anon, somewhere I have an excellent pickled green tomato recipe. I'd bet your Mother In Law may have one too. Seems it was fairly basic good vinegar, fresh dill garlic cloves & I think there may have been a spice or 12:-) you know how pickle recipes go! Plus I saw baked green tomatoes on a cooking show not too long ago. Have fun!!!

I'll have to check those recipes out Eva. Thanks! I made a new zucchini muffin recipe this morning that was pretty easy, tasted good and it yielded 18 nice sized muffins. I threw a dozen of them into the freezer.

my cucumber plants have stopped producing flowers so they must be done. I have the bushmaster type of cucumbers so the are the determined type. I would guess we have gotten more then 100 cucumbers from 5 plants.

Rading about the bounty of each of your gardens is so uplifting, as well as amazing! You have some great cucumber plants growing, I wonder can plants be started from the seeds of this years crop next spring? Do people even attempt that process any longer?

I am so over my garden for the year! We haven't checked on it since Sunday so I probably have yellow squash the size of baseball bats out there by now. We were overrun with cherry tomatoes, too.

Will be starting to make my sauces with all the tomatoes that are starting to turn all at once. Kids want me to make ketchup. I think that may be a no on that one.

Our garden is done. We are pulling all of it this week. The end where the tomatoes and green peppers were planted is just too low. I think the soil was way too wet to produce anything good. Except for the cherry tomatoes. We were overrun with those.

I have been thinning out the miniature hollyhocks, cone flowers and balloon plants. If anyone wants seeds or transplants, I have tons, to share. My mini hollyhocks are beautiful. I have grasses, too, if anyone wants any!

Made pumpkin bread this morning from the pumpkin that we grew. Very good in the taste if I say so myself.

I got some cucumbers from one of my neighbors yesterday. Most folk here are having a slow season for tomatoes. I think my girl and her hubby are doing better. But they work on it every day.
