Looking at my wife's flower/pumpkin garden, there was a real pretty butterfly that I saw today. Black and yellow. And plenty of those monarch(sp) butterflies. Also saw another hummingbirds. Been freezing green beans, also gave some to a few people. Tomatoes are finally starting to turn. That means BLT's for some meals.

We picked green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, onions and sweet corn last night. I am getting ready to freeze the green beans this morning. I also have a recipe for yellow squash relish (it can also be made with zucchini) and I hope to make that. I've never canned anything before, so wish me luck with the relish recipe!
The wind toppled one of our green pepper plants over but the majority of the plant seems to be fine.

There are a ton on the plants but they are still green. The cherry tomato plant has had some turning red.

I froze green beans last night and today. I also shredded zucchini for the freezer. I still have to get the sweet corn ready to freeze. That'll probably be tomorrow. Our watermelon didn't survive. Maybe next year!

I must have at least 60 tomatoes on my two plants but they are not turning red very fast. the tomato plants are starting to sag under the weight of the tomatoes.

I'm always so uplifted when I open this thread & read CCrunchs original post from 2 years ago & then read his recent posts :-) For your info, Our situation has change from two years ago, and actually for more of the positive side. Two years ago, my family was put in a poor situation. My wife's father had evicted us out of the house they we currently live in and own now. Four months after my wife's father evicted us, he pasted away. And to make the story short, we had to get an attorney and take my wife's sibling's to court, and beat them, (due to my wife keeping the proper paper work), and now we own our house, free and clear, since the start of this year. And now we are able to have a garden. I see where you are coming from and understand your post. But our situation, has changed for us, for the positive.
