Funny thing, bb, I actually do cry for those poor innocents getting killed, in those poorly thought out, no win wars. Those poor kids dying for nothing!!! You bet it makes me cry!!!! You are comparing apples and oranges again. Actually, I was contrasting the clamorous hyperbole surrounding Giffords return to the deafing silence surrounding the ultimate sacrifices of our military men and women. I was pointing out the fact that while Giffords’ story is remarkable and inspiring, the deaths of our soldiers goes largely unnoticed by most. butterbean, I believe the "deaths of our soldiers goes largely unnoticed by most" is due to a decision during the "W" administration and continued during the Obama administration to not show the coffins of those valiant fallen heroes being brought home. That was done in the VIETNAM ERA and brought the War home to America. Another difference butterbean is that those brave soldiers enlisted knowing they had a very great possibility of being shot, I really do not believe elected officials of any Party should not even have to fear that possibility. Unfortunately there are those who seem to thirst to ''WATER THE TREE OF LIBERTY", should others not agree with their viewpoint of the U.S. Constitution. g

I believe the Obama administration lifted that photo ban in 2009. Seemed like a lot of people wanted to see those pictures while Bush was CIC. What happened to all the interest? Aren't flag draped coffins together with Nobel peace prizes photogenic?

However, it's a pipe dream. In a country where you are not safe, literally, getting a hamburger in a McDonalds...elected officials on the state and national levels need tight security and run a real risk of harm or death. In other words, they run a risk similar to the one a soldier does.

Maybe butters isn't as evil as we thought, everyone. Maybe he's just... slow.
