I'm soooo happy that these 8 films have provided their fans with down time from the real world and given many people in the film industry steady work. I've tried to watch one and made it to the 40 minute mark before ejecting it and putting on...well...anything else.
Can you say...beat a dead effing horse...8 films of this crap?
OMG! Like Oprah...enough Harry Potter already, thank you.

Isn't there another Lord of the rings movie coming out "the Hobbit" i believe...movies the world don't need...

It got kids to read, for one thing. Kids that hated reading, actually picked up the books and read. As for the movies, somebody like them. They made millions. Something else will come along and take its place.

Something else will come along and take its place. You are right tosh. When I was younger the harry potter books is what begun my reading spree. They turned me into a major book worm and now I have issues with wanting to put books down. ;D

Harry's in rehab for excessive drinking. I think he was more tired of it than you were.

I find it sad that peep/s are glad to see an era gone, that got kids reading!
Bottom line: *IF* you don't like books or movies out, go read/watch something else!

I find it sad that peep/s are glad to see an era gone, that got kids reading! Bottom line: *IF* you don't like books or movies out, go read/watch something else! I submit to you that SOME kids read the books, but the greater majority lugged those thick tomes around schools wanting other kids to THINK they were reading them. The Harry Potter phenomenom/reading myth ends after JK soaks parents for one last chunk of change...after all, the kids aren't buying all those books! Bottom line: I did and do read/watch something else.

My grandson and his group of friends read them. They didn't realize it, but they had a book group! As they read them, they discussed the chapters together. It was cute listening to them. But when I commented, my daughter shushed me, afraid the boys would be appalled and stop, if they realized that's what they were doing! Lol. They just thought they were talking about cool characters.

my daughters are 9 & 11 and are just starting to read the books and have seen all the movies so far... they love HP and so do I! I don't know why you need to dump your crap on what others may like. I for one can't stand the Danielle Steele books and made-for-tv movies but I don't give people crap for liking them.

I find it hard to believe kids would 'lug' the books just to look good. Why are ppl suckers, because they like the series, and were willing to pay for it? Just because they like it, does not make them suckers, bb. It just makes them interested in something you are not. So what.
