It's probable I was more studious than you and have a better aptitude to apply what I've learned [because of my education at a private school (?)]. You really have to believe you're above us all to try to dismiss your comments as a "b!tchslap". Was that the best you could come up with? It certainly was not a kill-shot. It was more like a suicide bombing that hurt yourself more than it hurt me. But if you want to show us just how d**n stupid you are, go ahead and don't hold back. Show us your nuts. You've been doing great at it so far. Tell your new BFF being a Lefty is not just this side of communist, but being a prejudiced elitist is. He seems to be confused about it, as are many in his party.Actually, the progression goes something like this - The LeftProgressive Liberal Socialist Leftist Communist The RightLibertarian Moderate Conservative Right-wing Far-right What I have always found interesting is... butterbean, What I find interesting in your, oh so informative list of progressions, is you failed to list FASCISM on the CONSERVATIVE SIDE, you do remember HITLER don't you? As a self-proclaimed educated person I would have thought you would have known that. ;D Peace Be With You! g !

No one educated on the topic would have classified fascism under either category, since it borrowed ideas from across the entire political spectrum, which is well-known in studies of political science. The fact that fascists generally support a heavy control or regulation of certain aspects of the economy by the state coupled with a more totalitarian body politic, alone, should denote that it's not pure conservative orthodoxy.

Viper, Welcome back! Okay, then should Communist have been included on the list Liberal Side? g Like anything else, ideologies are always open to interpretation. However, yes, communism is generally regarded as a left-wing ideology, as the antithesis of capitalism, for its emphasis on class struggle, communalism and the abolition of private property. The only part of communism that is probably far-right is the theoretical abolition of the state in favor of a more anarchist type society. I don't understand why everyone regards communism as such a filthy term. It's simply a social, political and economic ideology that is usually referred to as being pretty extreme in its nature, though the fact that it's often used a pejorative term to label those left of center doesn't necessarily mean that classifying it as a left of center ideology was an attempt to demean anyone who is liberal. With that being said, I think most educated people understand that there is a rather huge difference between a modern American liberal such as yourself and someone who is truly a Marxist/communist that desires America to look like a society akin to a theoretical utopia right out of Marx's writings. In other words, being a liberal doesn't mean one is a communist or a Marxist.

There are some "educated " individuals who would argue the point as Fascism being on the "Right Wing" of the political spectrum I believe. g

Actually…unless you’re sitting in a poli-sci class discussing the dry, economic meaning of the term communism, you ARE putting somebody down when you refer to them as being a communist. Communism is best associated with the U.S.S.R., which used this economic and social system to enslave and kill millions of human beings. A liberal is certainly not a communist, but the Left has a sprinkling of those hoisting this banner who are usually flying under the radar in order not to draw fire.

Yes, yet the U.S.S.R. wasn't a truly communist state, if you're referring to Marx's theoretical version of communism. The U.S.S.R. never moved beyond the autocratic state control regiment. I'm not an advocate or supporter of communism by any means, BUT if you read Marx, he wasn't an advocate of enslaving and killing millions of citizens like the Soviets did.

Let me perhaps try this from a different approach since you can't modify a post after a few minutes have passed. In America, given our history of rather nefarious relations with the former Soviet Union due to the Cold War, communism is simply taught as an evil system where the Soviets and the Chinese enslaved their own peasant farmers and directly or indirectly killed millions of their own people via atrocities such as Stalin's purges or Mao's cultural revolution.
While all of that should be taught, because it happened and lesons can be learned from studying those events, what's often left out is having anyone read Marx and get an understand of where Marx was coming from and what he was arguing, theoretically, in his writings. If you really want to understand communism, you first have to read Marx or be taught Marx's theories, absent any of the misinterpretations of his theories as they were poorly implemented in parts of the Europe and Asia during the 19th century. Again, I'm not arguing that communism is a "good" or "bad" thing, but rather just sticking to the facts and throwing out all of the proverbial judgement calls when examining various ideologies in their theoretical state.

Companies aren't having trouble making money. They're scared to invest it back into America at this time. Then why give them tax cuts? Hiring incentives would be a better alternative,I agree.. Should I expect to hear about them anytime soon?
