Has anyone been here? A friend was telling me about it and i've looked it up online. Sounds nice and fun. Just wondering if anyone has been there and what the opinions are.
I always take my son to Chicago Beach but this would be much closer to home!

Either Google Evergreen Recreation Park or drive down I 39 and watch for signs off the Interstate. Take the Hudson exit ramp and watch carefully for the signs to Lake Evergreen. It's not too far from the Interstate and easy to find. I would imagine this time of year it will be crowded and parking could be an issue. There is the option of driving another 20 miles and watch the signs for Clinton Lake. It's a Power Plant lake and the water temps the other day were 92.8*. That is a little too warm for cooling off but the beach is more than 5 times larger and there are concession stand, and a shower house. It costs $1.00 to enter the swim beach area on Clinton Lake. Lake Evergreen could be Extremely Crowded with limited parking space.
All depends on how far you want to drive and if you want pool, lake and space to play. AND, Gas is cheaper down that way so don't fill up here before checking on the Internet what the cost per gallon is down that way. It ran close to 15+ cents per gallon cheaper down that way on Tuesday.
Main thing is have FUN..... ;D

The Campgrounds at Clinton Lake fill completely up by Friday afternoon. If you want to camp there you need to have your spot by sometime during the day on Thursday.
Also, the beach at Clinton Lake is far enough away from the discharge canal that as a rule the water isn't too warm there. There is a small restaurant within walking distance of the beach that has sandwiches, etc. All in all Clinton is worth the drive. We have camped there many times. The beach at Comlara in Hudson is for sure going to be packed if the weather is good.
